Indeed - the longitudinal position, length of the fore and aft struts and the attitude of the Space Shuttle in relation to the '747 is probably the least worst compromise for centre of gravity and effects on aerodynamics / control / etc.

No I did not create that one myself, but many of my other posts are my own work.
I'm no expert with photoshop, but have developed a reasonable level of understanding of it. Once you have got a grip of how layers/masks/selections work the whole package starts to become less unweildy.
