Aaand another point I can recommend Dwarf Fortress for ... Build a lot of mechanism stuff with water, Lava, Traps and elaborate labyrinthian doorways,
then forget to properly label all your Levers.

Let your Dwarves pull all levers simultaneously and be sure to have instant-fun ! [yesnod] [wacky]
[ Fun in this case meaning, having equal parts of your Dwarves drowned, burned, obsidianized, atom-smashed and overrun by the Circus and / or Were-tortoises. DF takes it's motto "Loosing is fun!" really serious [squeeeee] ]

Obviously, no one talks (exactly ) that way and barbarians ( Barbar ) as well as barbers ( Barbier ) are people which are normally not around anymore, but everything you heard in that video is grammatically correct and every German would understand it. This is due to the fact that in the German language you can put together enormous amounts of nouns, which often leads to true word-monsters. On the other hand, this makes it quite easy to describe stuff with words made up on the fly and still make sense.

Especially officials in Germany are known to regularly produce those, like "Grund stücks ver kehrs ge neh mi gungs zu stän dig keits über tra gungs ver ord nung" and "Rind fleisch eti ket tie rungs über wa chungs auf ga ben über tra gungs ge setz".

....Plus ein Ruf nummer!! ... I don't know what you said, but it had something to do with Beef meat, and I am a fan of beef :D

Everyone does. But nearly nobody knows he has to. It comes down to this :

If you really decided to get into it, DO NOT try to find out what the Circus is, and avoid everything on the Wiki ( which is basically the official handbook ) which says "Spoiler".
Also, if you can't get into ASCII Graphics and really bad UI, I heartily recommend the Lazy Newb Pack, as it comes with different Graphic Mods and tons of useful stuff, especially the Dwarf Therapist ( also, get a therapist for yourself, anyone trying to get into DF definitely needs one sooner or later [wacky] )

In case anyone is wondering why I actually tried to manage to derail a thread about oddities : I did not. Nothing in this thread is as odd as DF can get ... don't believe me ? Try the last link, second page, bottom entry ( or the whole rest of the thread really). I don't want to post the entry directly here as it is not really safe for minors, adults, elderly and sane persons.

Also, don't bring cats. Never ever bring cats ! ( at least until v0.31.03 after that, two are fine)
