As it happens, all three of them are spacedust, ma'am!

@Styggron - you still hunting that Constrictor?

Technically yes but to no avail. I've been to almost every place on the map (GalMap 3) and no triggers. :( I checked all the places you mentioned. Still not visited everywhere I'm at the bottom right corner now.

<scatches head> You're in G3? Hmm... I don't think you'll find it there, as it usually only spans G1/G2. Question: you did make contact with it at least once, yes (forgive me if you've already told me the details)? It might be worth having a look at your save-file, and checking the mission variables.

The scenario told me to go to G3.

I looked at the save file and the only place I could find the word constrictor is in this spot

<key>oolite-constrictor-hunt</key>
<string>Hunt for the Constrictor stolen from Xeer.</

also looking up mission I found cohunt which must be constrictor hunt, it says this

<key>mission_conhunt</key>
<string>STAGE_1</string>

You like them? Cool! It was a group effort. Lots of people helped name areas and routes. It needed to be a group thing because that's the point of oolite, the make is part of the game.

I may have one or two print outs left kicking around some where. (I got a very good deal on some snazy a3's) Want one? :D

I still have a treasured copy of ClymAngus' Galaxy 1 starmap on my study wall. :)

Cheers,

Drew.

Yes, I've really got to get another batch of those done. They worked out very well. Just seen an article about Dangerous decrying the PvP action.

It is unfortunate when the press get hold of these things. A game as open as this should have many ways to have fun, unfortunately one slightly psychotic fasset of this Dangerous jewel appears to be getting a little too much glint for its own good.

I thought this was a pretty good and fair review. Quite an in depth review too. Good stuff.

It is, I just thought it unfortunate that the players couldn't stop nailing the journalist. This isn't Egypt...... :D

I wrote a fairly significant story for the 'Oolite' (oolite.org) remake of Elite back in 2006, the idea being to give it a 'The Dark Wheel' kind of story to set the scene, reminiscent of Robert Holdstock's original novella. There is also a sequel which follows on from the original set piece.

The story likewise sets the scene, and introduces some of the new technology made available in Oolite over and above the original game.

I assumed that Oolite sat somewhere between FE2/FFE and Elite, so there is a mix of ships, events and technologies in there. The first story has a number of 8-bit 'in jokes' for the cognoscenti to spot :)

Anyway, the stories can be found here.
Thanks so much! I'm going to sit down and read them, before grabbing your new ED novel from Amazon. Too sick to risk playing ED today. :)

Oh, and I noticed you moved the link for the Oolite Saga books to here.*

Cheers!

*Touch base if you want me to remove the new link.

OK, just finished Status Quo. I never sit and read for 8 hours, but today I did. :D

Drew, you had me at the Agent's slaughter of the Traders. I realize you wrote this 9 years ago, but I truly hope that the ED v1.3 Imperial Courier is half as cool as you told it!

Ah, 2006... "She zoomed the scanner resolution up: 256x192, 320,200, 640X480, 800x600, 1024x768. Ah, better: now she could see clearly." How times are a changing.

Cheers!
