There is nothing to read... It appears you posted a video, but not everyone has the bandwidth to watch videos. The subsequent comments make it sounds like the video was a bad idea. All I have to go on is the title, so I replied in a civilized fashion (until you provoked me) as to why "Open Only" is not something everyone wants, regardless of incentive.

That said, I do enjoy a good forum PvP, especially against poster flying shieldless, paper-thin arguments

Well I'm glad to see Open's finest advocated for everyone to join them around the campfire. I feel so terrible now that I'm stuck in Solo and cannot partake of the amazing social experiences y'all have to offer

You need to stop taking it personally. I was not directing this at you. I really dont care what mode you play in old chap.
What DOES bother me is when people try to justify WHY they do it, which usually involves saying things along the lines of " because of course I dont, why would i, its so terrible, only gankers use open yada yada"

Again - no one here is saying this is you per say .

The way some (if not most) of the PvPers present themselves all over the forum is one of the most compelling reasons for me not to waste any time with these people in the game - and that's even long before taking any pew pew, 'git gud' or technical reasons into account. In this sense: You can have it all with the greatest pleasure!

I'm pretty sure some extended introspection would go a long way towards realizing how much of an anti-PvP advertising bunch they actually are.

I already play in open!
I don't care what the self marginalized crowd thinks either.
There's always hate being sent your way when you're one of the "cool kids".
Open is "the most poular mode" by a wide margin, go figure...

That said, your title is not congruent with that sentiment.

Sorry, but you seem to be dismissing people because they have a different view then you? That, most definitely will lead nowhere, and maybe you should consider that it makes you actually be in the crowd that you are accusing others of being, the one flooding and simply trying to dismantle things because they enjoy what is going on and wants it to stay this way. That in itself is not an issue, beginning to say the 'other' side is however, maybe instead of attacking a group of people, lets try to have a healthy discussion on the topic?

That said, I do not believe there is a need for an incentive for playing in open. Because 99% of the time unless i'm seeking out other players actively. the fact that there are other players doesn't affect my gameplay.

Oh, we still have cookies. We also have biscuits masquerading as cookies that can more accurately be described as chocolate-chip biscuits. Crackers are similar and tend to be savory rather than sweet. American biscuits are closer to what we would call a scone, and the american recipe of "biscuits and gravy" sounds disgusting if you were to use the british meaning for either of those terms, but we'd call it stew and dumplings.
