If such toxicity exists it does so because player groups that want everyone to play the game their way can't force others to do so - so their solution is to force everyone to play their way (and don't seem to care much, if at all, about those who don't want to play their way) - noting that their way of playing is optional, hence why they complain about other players not playing that way.A lot of it was hand-on-heart a genuine belief that it would have neutered a lot of the toxicity it generated within the power play community, or player groups engaging in 'BGS wars'.
