That's exactly what people are going there for.

Game has 3 types of materials:

-Raw (aka ores)
-Manufactured
-Encoded (aka data)

Those don't take cargo space and you can carry A LOT by default. They're used for refuels/ FSD infections and all the crafting you do through your ship. And of couse, for eng. upgrades as well as tech broker unlocks. So yeah, very helpful and tbh you can never have enough of them lol.

I'm at the Bug Killer, it's decent, and the data drops are typically (over 95%) Adaptive Encryptors Capture, and Atypical Encryption Archives, I've maxxed out both, and not much else drops except for CIF.
The mat drops have been antimony, ruthenium, and tellurium.

Went to the Bug Killer (HIP 16613) last night and it's all still there. Definitely worth a visit. Not just for the mats - if you go to the Bug Killer and SRV sites, the story (with voice log) is awesome!

I don't know if it was temporary or just me, but I logged out at the bug killer site before the patch. I logged back in today and no bug killer on the planet. It may be gone now.

The update has caused some issues with POI’s. I expect it will be back.

2/3/23 bug killer site is there and still producing 3 cargo racks with materials, also the Thargoid visits you when you arrive then scans the site before leaving cool experience.
