The Outer Rim Initiative

With the new content coming in Update 11(Fleet Carrier Interiors) I wanted to make a proposal. I call it the Outer Rim Initiative. The Goal would be to find isolated pockets
that require a fleet carrier to get into and out of. I know that at least one place was discovered before fleet carriers came out, called the Explorer's Graveyard, however, I cannot find where it is located. With that being said, the most likely locations for these "islands" that require a Fleet Carrier to get into and out of would be the Outer Rim of the Galaxy. These "Islands" Present a useful possibility for access control in the Elite:Dangerous Milky Way, and a unique opportunity to roleplay as establishing new bubbles throughout the galaxy.

What I would want from you, if you sign up, is to contribute a Fleet Carrier in one of several configurations, for the different economies. For instance, a tourist Fleet Carrier would offer the ability to turn in Exploration Data, A Broker or Merchant FC would buy and sell everything, and a Ferry FC would ferry people on a shcedule between these unreachable areas. If you can imagine a role for your Fleet Carrier, then you can fulfil it. I need help, and we have time to plan, but I just wanted to propose this as a way to take control of our roleplay and not rely on Fdev. Instead, anything they do would enhance our roleplay.

The First of the New Bubbles would be what I call Model , and would be found in Newton's Gambit or The Formidine Rift. This bubble would be the first to be colonised, and would be a model for others to visit.

WAIT! But what about players without Fleet Carriers? To that I say hop on board and enjoy the ride! I want to encourage nations and factions to be formed around the various fleet carriers, so I'm sure you will find a place. I plan on there being rp in universe battles that take place between factions at some later point, and the outcome will not be decided until one side retreats or gets destroyed, like a CZ but PvP. Like to mine? Tritium will always be valuable, and even more so in the black. You might be able to leverage some favor with whatever Fleet Carrier you end up delivering the tritium to. Want to be a pirate, or erhem, a privateer? We will require everyone to play on open. Want to be a bounty hunter and hunt down those pirates, at the behest of a real player? The opportunity will be there.

My ship, The Speaker for the Dead (XLZ-3XG) is currently gathering supplies, meant to be a colony ship with that same type of economy, at least at first. For that, I am bringing alot of food and a variety of items to be able to establish a colony, but as the colony develops I will try and buy different things to develop a different type of a colony. Maybe a tourist economy with lots of antiquities, xeno artefacts, or anything else that catches my fancy, but most of all my FC is about building a communtiy of rpers who want to try something different than the usual BGS manipulations.

Do you mean the Anaconda's Graveyard?

If so, its in HD 76133

That could be a good place for your initiative, but its very remote. I'm not sure how many players would go there, or even know about it these days as its a relic from the early days of deep space expeditions.

I love this. My fleet carrier [EDF] Black Mesa (K9X-T6N) could be a "rest stop" (i have Refuel restock and repair) or a "visitor center"

This could also be an awesome use for base building. Trips to either colonia or the bubble would need to happen as credit supply will eventually decrease

Oh I’ve been near there. Regularly skirt my way around the rim, and it’s very enjoyable. You just have to be very careful where you stop for the night, as you don’t want to end up getting stuck in somewhere over night - you’ll need a lot of power to get out if you get jammed in something gnarly.
