PvP The PvE <-> PvP Rift

The grand strategy of the half dozen people you so often find yourself arguing with is to beat you down with an almost miraculous persistence that will inevitably result in you becoming frustrated and giving up. The trick is to understand that you will never convince this group of people of anything. The good news is that other people may read your words and see their value and perhaps be swayed by your arguments.

Maybe we should all stop discussing this on the forums and fight out in the game? Wouldn't that be interesting.

Because you suck at presenting arguments or selling ideas? When you issue a duel the one you challenge chooses the weapons. I choose rhetoric.

Have you done your suggestions thread yet?

That wasn't very nice. I think he's more than held his own with you in the duel of words.

Do you? By belligerently failing to take on board what people are saying? All I've seen is 'I want', 'I don't care about other players', and 'you all suck at combat' therefore I'm better' stuff. You too frankly, you have added virtually nothing of consequence either way, and made no attempt at all to try to establish any common ground or rally your troops to focus on the goal.

This thread has done nothing to move forward from the conclusions drawn in my proposal thread (that predates this thread), and franky I'm considerably less inclined to support any kind of meaningful PvP than I was before this pointless two-week rant happened.

I'm here to help find a solution, and all I'm getting is childish mockery and TL;DRs. You (as a collective) may be good at bragging, you might be better at playing Timmy try-hard (been there, not interested in doing it again) but you could't organise a party in a brewery judging by the last week or so of this thread.

Consolidate, regroup & come back with a cohesive plan of attack as to why other players should accept having to concede anything for the sake of your (as a group) entertainment.

You're getting kind of personal, Riverside. I brought up a number of ideas in this thread, and they were roundly dog piled from the get go. I hold to the central tenet that in order to not only be fair but fun, the BGS or Power Play should either be 1-only influenced in Open, or 2-the rewards for doing it in Open should be greatly enhanced. Leaning massively towards number one. I'm sorry you don't respect my views, but that isn't going to change them.

There is nothing to respect when you suggest something that can't realistically be done as countless unread posts here have explained. You can have a new layer, you can't realistically take an existing layer (PowerPlay) away from existing (non-PvP) users without good reason. Understand that, and come up with a suggestion that doesn't step on so many toes.

The BGS is independent of modes, the modes sit on top of the BGS. Powerplay also sits on top of the BGS, it could be tailored but at a significant cost to the PvE crowd, which is the bridge you guys haven't even reached yet. That can be crossed with the right argument (eg it is used so little, and re-purposing existing assets is 'cheaper').

But there has been no persuasive argument for converting Powerplay, so assuming you (as a group) singularly lack those basic selling skills your only other option is to request a new layer. I laid out the skeleton of that in my meaningful PvP proposal, but you guys need to come up with a BGS-lite type activity you can all agree on, and some numbers on how many players would be likely to sign up to it (ie enough to justify the work).

Threats & rants won't do it.

And look at the OP in my CLogging thread. My initial idea was universally panned, but good stuff came out of the resulting debate. Nothing good has come out of this thread, it's just rehashing old ground over & over again.

Just gonna echo what Jason said here. Consider stepping back, Riverside.
