The relog mechanic (please read FDev)

Conversely, I have done EDH engineers enough to build a fully engineered large ship on three accounts and the last one took me maybe 1-2 weeks. And EDO took me longer in terms of time-span.

EDH was majority grind.
EDO wasn't.

If you find them "the same" then that's cool. We can never prove each other wrong with this. But the upgrading process of EDO is just so obviously more streamlined than EDH to me I am amazed anyone thinks it's the same or worse. Fdev introduced a lot of things I asked for with engineering. No one seems to care. And that's OK. I care. And I'll repeatedly applaud them for the things I think they did better.

We have to disagree here...

I also unlocked engineers on XB, Steam and Epic. And i have like 50+ G5 engineered ships (30+ only on XB).
The only EDH engineer unlock that felt grindy was Lei Cheung and his 50 markets. One out of 24 (25 if we count Chloe too)

Getting materials was also less grindy since in EDH we have engineering on grades and G3 is very very easy, while still powerful enough (My epic account has not yet unlocked Palin and it still does great in G3 drives)
Also Engineering in EDH is easy for another reason - all materials are tradeable. And I never have to focus on lesser ones. I only hunt the G5 materials (which can be found in very easy to find locations) and trade down or sideways for what i need.

That's not the case for EDO. Currently we are forced to grind Goods and Data and the trading of Assets is a pale image compared with materials trading in EHD.

So for me, the entire EDO Engineering is a step back... Actually several steps back.
However - that's the only game loop we can do in EDO (*) and... for the moment... it's still enjoyable being rather new stuff
Nevertheless, i hope they tune up the unlocks and the material grinds and the material caps... eventually.

*(no, i dont count as game loops scanning for bio stuff 3-samples-at-a-time, nor taking nice screenshots at sunset/sunrise)

They can? How exactly does one do that. I didn't get that memo...
As with credit transfers via carrier markets, it's more a consequence of other features than deliberately supported ... but anything you can pick up from your suit you can also drop again, and someone else can pick it up.

So it's fiddly, it needs you to meet up in person on a planet surface, and there's a certain amount of trust involved, but it is possible.

You can actually use it to "play catch" :D

Streamers do seem to encourage grinding don't they?

Haven't needed to myself (apart from settlement defences plans). You should really try playing the game and ignore the streamers.
Can you explain how you play this game without grinding and relogging please? Even in this 1 message you contradict yourself and say you needed to do it for settlement defence plans---the game is totally broken and not a fun game at all, you just haven't figured it out yet.

If this is a genuine question and not rhetoric then I'd be happy to explain how you can upgrade with minimal relog repetition. I say minimal because there is some and this is something quite a few of us have been trying to get changed (quite successfully at least with Opinion polls; hope you got involved with that thread).

There's a difference between the extreme of "entirely grindy and totally broken" and "a little grind here and there". It's actually OK to not put things into extreme left or right boxes.

You can pick them up from storage into your suit then drop them... Then someone else can pick them up

It's obvious you didn't hit the caps (yet) for assets or data :D
I've hit the caps multiple times for assets. I usually end up selling 6 of something cheap to get below the limit, then use the bartender to trade bunches of low value items into the high value items in that category. It's incredibly annoying and tedious. I always have a TON of the middle group (circuitry?) and pretty good load of the chemicals. It's the last group, tech, that I often need more of (Tungsten Carbide, Titanium, Weapon components, etc.).

And yes, I'm aware I can pull stuff from storage back into my suit. I often do that in the field when I hit the cap. I start pulling junk I don't need from storage and then put the stuff I do want back in. Then I select the "emergency dump" option to get into my SRV.

How does one manually drop stuff from suit storage? I haven't seen this option.

again, your opinion--I can put it in an extreme box, because it's extremely broken--I wouldn't even be on these forums if I wasn't so upset at how they mangled a perfectly fine spaceship simulator--I'm really not interested in how you manage to enjoy the game, it's not a good game--a lot of people play terrible games, I don't have time for it. Honestly feels like I'm talking to a bunch of Stepford wives on this forum.

So it wasn't a genuine question. Thought so.

We managed to fully upgrade and we did it without grinding for the vast majority of it. I only "grinded" twice, once for an initial bulk of MIs and once for SDPs. Both of which are things I want Fdev to change, even though I don't need to do them any more.

And, I repeat, we (me and @Factabulous and others) have been active here trying to get these changes implemented. What have you done?

Dude, I'm not asking you questions? I responded to a post and you piped up again--just stay out of it and enjoy the fruits of your incredible game.

Oh ok, @Factabulous can you please answer his question, please? He genuinely wants to know how we managed to upgrade fully without grinding much.

I'm sure my good friend will be along to answer your private question. Next time, perhaps avoid using a public forum to ask your private question.

I'll bet that's been one long horrendous grind for you, what with all that "going to get missions and do them" malarkey. How do you cope?
It's a struggle. Those missions also give Settlement Defence Plans - wish I'd found them before I did the SDF relog then I could have skipped that too, ah well - no excuse for the little ones now (y)

I'm sorry I'm taking this much space up in your brain--let it go-- I don't care about how you think you spent little time in the game--you're demonstrably wrong--
Look at Hawkes gaming, he said he spent 100 hours getting some of the materials DTEA says the opinion polls were also a ridiculous amount of time and that was with relogging.
Unlike you I don't have 100's of hours in odyssey.
Why don't you explain how to do it for people that care, instead of just saying its not broken?

I thought they only gave attack plans? I never saw any SDPs unless it changed on a silent patch.
