The Route planner discussion thread

Ha, yeah, doing that now...

Trip was about 109 light years in sidey with a fuel scoop, trying to get back to my viper...

Was from Tenche to Beta-1 Tucane... But never mind, figured it out now, it was because I couldn't get beyond the few star systems I was in as the jumprange 9.86 lightyears was too low. Thanks for your help!

I'm still thinking that at least one jump in your jump limit. If one is over then you will get that error. Several of the routes I've taken have single jumps over 10 (and that was not using fastest route).

EDIT: just saw you found your problem

It's generally working for me but one thing seems to have changed.

When typing in a system name and pressing Return or clicking the arrow, the planner no longer seems to go to the most obvious system first.

Example from yesterday, and I repeated this several times: I typed "Pand", and the first system found was called Pandora, Pandemonium or something similar; only the second click showed me the actual Pand.

I had a similar experience with another, totally different, system, the name of which I don't have a note of.

Anyone else?

Sounds to me like a jump-range issue, have not had any issues myself (Python Jump 16.5 Very Big Fuel-scoop)

On the subject of routing, am I right in thinking the solid line is max along route without refueling and broken line is rest of route but you need to refuel?

Yeah, cheers. To be honest I only logged in for a bit, with all the uproar around 1.1, I'm going to stay away until the game is fixed!

Well i am out in the middle of nowhere far away for colonized space and ... it does work.
Ok, it tends to be kind of useless since its tends to make you visit every possible M/L/Y/T stars on the way, avoiding others, but it is a begining !

That's exactly what I figured and was going to check via route planner.

Lusonda > Alawongli - 10.07LY
Alawongli > Taso - 10.21LY

Among a few others ;)

Check out the web route planner if you ever are unsure or need a better visual representation:

https://cmdr.club/routes/

Although not really needed with the 1000LY edition in game now..but it's nice to have a visual point to point reference sometimes.

Yep. Of course if you have a scoop and the stars are good for it that doesn't matter. A filter for only those where you can "Fill My Kettle And Go" (forget the name of the genius that came up with that) would be welcome, but it's soooo much better than it was!

"Fill My Kettle And Go"?

Nice, but it misses a few.

I still use FOG KBAM! from a YouTube tutorial - might have been one of Nutter's.

Hi,

I'm finding that the new route planner seems to keep forgetting my route when I stop to refuel or drop out of SC for any reason.

I can still see the route plotted in the galaxy map, but the little icon that shows your next destination is missing in the navigation display in the ship. Prior to 1.1, you had a little icon to remind you what your next stop would be. I now have to replot the route again to get things working again.

Am I missing something here or should this be reported?

I've had this. The route still appears mapped on the Galactic map but the next hop is lost and no little icon.

Not my experience. Only if i drop out of SC does it lose the targeting, but the route is still there in the galactic map. I just need to reselect the target system and the hit plot course again. Its a minor annoyance, but when travelling long distances, i don't come out of SC much except to make beauty shots. Im more likely to lose my route due to doing scans on objects, but the route remains in the galaxy map, again, just go select destination and plot route.

I ticketed this at the start of 1.1 testing. It was inconsistent tho. The route was actually still there highlighted if you went to the galaxy map, but no icon in the nav list.
