With a virus, not so much. A virus is not really a living organism. It has no metabolism, and it has no way of reproducing on its own. It needs a host. The lack of metabolism btw. is interesting because a type of virus called a bacteriophage, which attacks bacteria, needs to inject its nucleic acids (RNA or DNA) into the bacteria, and that takes energy, something a living cell normally gets through metabolism:

I think it would be best. If commanders stayed in their ships, for a while longer. I mean, if they are getting about and mixing with each other, it will only spread this virus more. So best to postpone Odyssey, until this is under control.

I've been trying to find where the estimate came from to gauge it's reliability, it may well be the same sources who initially pushed for herd immunity.

The thing is, the man they spoke to and are quoting pretty much is "THE Man" re Coronavirusses . ( edit: he actually specializes in human CoVs - but ofc. knows a lot about the Family in general ) .
He is one of the leading experts on this . Globally .
He coisolated SARS (CoV-1) and also made the first PCR Test for that then, as well as he and his Team did for SARS-CoV-2 . He is Dr.med., has been Controlling Director of a molecular diagnostics Lab for some years, is a trained Epidemiologist, Microbiologist and Virologist . He is Head of departement of Virology at one of the most prestigious Institutes in Europe - Charite Berlin .
Diss the paper if you wish . But Prof. Dr. Drosten very much knows what he is talking about .

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) approved the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Monday.
The EMA has granted a one-year "conditional marketing authorisation" for the vaccine.
The agency pointed out that the United Kingdom and the United States had only granted a provisional green light.
When I read what is written below, I tell myself that I will wait at least 12 months before accepting the vaccine. Wait for full results.
