I get that you can't post any sources because you are frightened of being fact checked.

That doesn't mean I'll waste time arguing the definition of a conspiracy theory with you. If you don't like the phrase you should avoid the thread as conspiracy theories are all the anti-mask anti-vax anti-education types have.
Please take a long hard look at what I am saying and what you are saying. You claim to be a paragon of reasoned thinking and virtue, but you just come across as a ranting idealogue. All I'm talking about is what the words "conspiracy" and "theory" mean. There's literally nothing to fact check other than the dictionary. Even the definitions of "conspiracy theory" that have already been posted quite baldly state that a theory about an actual conspiracy is a necessary component of them, which is all I'm saying. But you're just not even reading what I'm saying, you're just reading what you want me to be saying so you can get angry about it.

No one is going to fall for you pedantry Manfred.

Any one who has read anything about anti-vaxxers know they all parrot the same crap and that 'masks don't work' is part of their overarching conspiracy nonsense.
Whataboutery and conspiracies are all they have.

I'm not angry I genuinely enjoy debunking conspiracy theories.

If you want examples of conspiracy theories search the thread for anything anti-vax or anti-mask. Look immediately after those posts for well sourced debunking posts.
Oh my god what are you talking about! I'm not looking for conspiracy theories! You telling me that conspiracy theories exist, does not back up a specific claim about a specific thing being a conspiracy theory, when it isn't one. General points about conspiracy theories does not address that.

Again, if you post a photo of a table and claim it's a rhinoceros and I say it isn't, pointing at an actual rhinoceros and saying "see, rhinoceroses exist" doesn't change a thing.

I know that rhinoceroses exist. I know that conspiracy theories exist. I know that "the virus is a hoax concocted by a Jewish elite" is a conspiracy theory. I know that "masks don't work", as a statement in and of itself (which was all the original post contained) is not a conspiracy theory, by the definition of the words.

That's really it. That's all I'm saying.

You could have said something like "on it's own no it isn't, but I strongly suspect it's an indication that the poster is buying into deeper conspiracy theories" and that would have been that. You could also have said "oh stop being so pedantic, you know what I meant" and that would have been that. But no, you had to insist repeatedly that words just have a new definition now. And call me a massive pedant (and you'd be right), but I can't help but argue with that. The statement was not a conspiracy theory because it made no mention of a conspiracy. That's all there is to it.

No, what's bull is claiming masks do not work. Take your bleach, vit D and pray it away dude!

Which just shows how willingly ignorant you are choosing to be. The amount of testing done on these vaccines is simply unheard of, especially in such a short timespan.

I guess this is what happens when you get your opinions from facebook and fox.
Lol back to personal attacks, you got nothing dude, take your vaccine and feel safe, because you can still get sick even if you use 15 mask LOL!

Show me some hard clinical trials, instead of the same propaganda.

this is what I could find.

And the most resent test

"Masks don't work" is a conspiracy theory.

The vaccine is not experimental because it’s new

A widely circulating claim is that the vaccines being rolled out are “experimental” because of the short time-frame in which they have been produced.

The reality is, despite the speed in which they have been developed, the same strict procedures for developing a vaccine have been adhered to and are being overseen by independent regulators, Bryan Deane, Director of new medicines and data policy at the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) explained.

The scale of the misinformation campaign to spread distrust in a Covid-19 vaccine has been revealed in a new report.

The Center for Countering Digital Hate gained access to a private anti-vaxxers' conference, finding groups were intent on recruiting new members and undermining facts about the jab.

The claims made by anti-vaccination groups are unfounded, with any potential Covid-19 vaccine undergoing rigorous testing before getting approval from regulators.

Supporters of QAnon -- some of whom have been tied to violent incidents and participated in the January 6 insurrection at the United States Capitol -- have also played a significant role in spreading misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic since it began. In recent months, as coronavirus vaccines -- which are safe and effective -- have been released, QAnon supporters have turned their attacks on the vaccines, spreading numerous false claims about them.

the FDA did not fully approve the c19 vaccines no matter how you want to spin it, it’s not fully approved that’s a fact.

Whatever pedantry might be, it's not a trap.
So what's your goal here? Why are you so hung up on defining what is and isn't a conspiracy theory?

Do you deny that the majority of anti-vaxx conspiracists parrot the same 'masks don't work''nonsense and therefore it falls under their umbrella of fake beliefs regardless if it is a specific conspiracy theory of its own?

Is it a conspiracy to believe the government is coming for your freedom rights because they ask you to respect others in public?

So stop the personal attacks, it only make you look like some uneducated tool.

Most of those are about 10 years old - the recent one is comparing N95s with Surgical masks - not masks with no masks.

What's your point?

Lol projection again, I just posted a bunch of link to clinical tries that they don’t work as you and the mask police claim.

Those are about flu. Covid-19 is a corona virus the flu is an influenza virus, different things you can tell by the name.
"Flu activity remains unusually low this year, largely in part to all the restrictions put in place for ."

“It is possible that the mitigation measures for SARS-CoV-2 [such as social distancing, remote working, and mask wearing] will help curb the spread of flu [and] other respiratory viruses as well, since these viruses are transmitted in similar ways,” said Dr. Ellen F. Foxman, an immunologist and Yale Medicine Laboratory Medicine physician."

Claiming covid-19 is just the flu is another widely debunked conspiracy theory.

Cries about personal attacks, engages in personal attacks. Well done.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Blake Bargatze, 24, was the only one in his family to not get vaccinated and now he remains in a hospital ICU more than three months after contracting COVID-19, according to his family.
“I just don’t ever want anybody else to go through this,” his mother Cheryl Nuclo told Channel 2′s Matt Johnson.
Bargatze was infected with the virus in April while in Florida, his family says, and has needed a double lung transplant and months of intensive care at hospitals in three states.

I would much rather take a jab than end up like this guy.

Lol really, so show me a clinical trial showing that mask work to stop the COVID which is also a virus like the influenza virus.

Show a clinical trial that mask works, I will be waiting right here.

I'm pretty sure I linked these in this thread almost a year ago:

Also, you might want to check any of the countless other studies and analyses have that have been cited in this thread.

What a load of Buuuuull

Look at the limitations section of that study and you'll see how hard it is to design a meaningful real-world experiment. However, I'd argue that this is no excuse to ignore the obvious implications of the results obtained from more controlled experiments.

Sure, it's perfectly possible to find studies that show limited effectiveness of mask wearing in non-clinical settings, but your assertion that the factors that make masks effective in a clinical setting are somehow wholly inapplicable to other settings borders on magical thinking. There may be some ambiguity as to the degree of overall impact of mask use where it's impossible to apply sufficient controls (either in methodology or observation), but to claim that masks don't work because of that ambiguity requires that you ignore all the facts behind what masks are actually doing.

and the jab is a Russian roulette

Not a rational metaphor.

I'd trust my own immune system a lot more than an untested cocktail of unknown substances.

And not descriptive of any currently approved (even for emergency use) SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.

You might get away with claiming there is an uncertain correlation between mask use and rates of infection, but you cannot claim anything remotely similar of vaccine use, or cite any evidence that these vaccines are a meaningful health risk themselves.

Your unreasoning faith in your personal plot armor would be quaint, if it didn't make you a potential threat to others.

Nope it’s actually proven in many clinical trials, so back to your broken record, without proof.
"Masks don't work" is a blanket statement that is demonstrably false.

There are plenty of studies that show their effectiveness is dependent on the type and how they are worn and used. You even quoted some yourself.

So now because they are old they are not valid? Mkay here you go.
No that doesn't invaildate them - it just means that more recent studies will take into account coronavirus.

Your most recent example compared the effectiveness of two different masks not masks versus no masks.

I aks again - what point are you trying to make with that? It literally shows that in that study both have an effect but it didn't detect much difference.

How does that support "masks don't work" in your opinion?

Cries about personal attacks, engages in personal attacks. Well done.

That’s fine I could say the same, I really don’t care what you do, Im happy I still live in a free country. So please block me and you will be in you happy space again.
