I would never use those words lol. Casual does not seem so bad a word though, did not realise that was offensive. Mode-Switching just sounds...factual. I prefer the term "Commander" it is the most respectful.
I would love if you were to explain to me in the image.. where it say what mode each person who contributed to it was in. And what instance, if they were on the PC or X-box, and so on.

To be fair, if it was going to offer an option to delete PvP from open, it should have offered an option to delete solo/private mode. I would not really be in favor of this, but the option SHOULD have been the in the interests of fairness. Especially since it involves deleting content that the game was sold with, as opposed to content that never existed (offline mode).

this includes: give player the possibility to play system security and tools for bounty hunting, and make the galaxy as dangerous for peole who do pVp-combat as it is for people who do pWp.

As I said, if you'd done a shred of research you'd have known some simple things.
Open advocates being offensive by way of calling non open players [See the list by Cody above].
Also accusations of "hiding" and being cowards in "easy mode" are thrown about almost weekly.
Whether you think it is cheating or not - FD had to hold both competitions in Open only. They had no choice as the accusations and backlash would have been insane.
It had nothing to do with any mode being better / favored / preferred etc. And you know what, most Solo players and Group players were fine with it - they are not trying to push their agendas on others.
Oh and I thought my preferred game style was available when I bought the game, quite a few of us did.
CODE however proved us all wrong there with their Mobius Group killing spree (which I asked your opinion on and you've not answered).
There is no PvE mode here yet, as any multiplayer mode allows forced PvP and FD did nothing about what happened - not even a simple message to acknowledge what happened (as far a I am aware).
I can only assume they don't give a monkeys about it.

That is cool, but all of this research amounts to...what? I am still another Commander who plays Elite Dangrous, and who is happy with hi sgame. What more do I need to "research"?

That is also cool. I agree, don;t push agendas on people. We follow the devs, and should be happy if they take our suggestions on board.

I was just making a point, not trying to open up a whole discussion about it, it seems kind of offtopic. Either way, I never mentioned "cheating" at all, just made the observation there were Open only events in the past, and that I personally would like to see MORE in the future. Nothing wrong with that is there?

It must be their current vision for the game. I am in favor of it anyway, forced PvP in Open. They should put a trigger warning on it though, so people know they may get attacked by other players. Though to be honest you can get attacked and killed by NPC's, so they should put appropriate warnings on each gamemode. A lot of people seem to be claiming they were not aware of the risks of playing Open. That would solve the issue. I think they DO care, as evidenced by all the work they are doing. Just because the game is different to the one you want to play, does not mean they "don't give a monkeys".

That has nothing to do with me. I said that I thought the game was "easier" in Open, especially around the core worlds. It is my opinion, not a dig at anyone. I am fine with all modes of gameplay. I also said I had no problem with hiding from combat using solo, and never used it in the pejorative. Either way, my comments are honest ones.

May get FD to fix NPC loot tables then.
A T9 with 10T of bio waste would never happen - yet NPCs do it all the time.
That needs a major fix so NPC piracy becomes a viable source of income
Really, battle of who has the most SCBs is interesting to you?
Cause it bores the snot out of me.
NPCs at least have random gear fitted and use it, not just 5 banks of SCBs and run away after 30 seconds.
Heck even the Hutton CG in Solo has been more fun than that poor excuse for PvP in this game.
Get a true PvE mode and SJA back at the NPC controls and I'll be a happy man
