I assume of that remaining 98% of registered players, who all must have internet access to play ED, also have access to google and the ability to use it and yet do not want to join Mobius or are happy with Open, Private or Solo.

I still feel this is not an oversight...but part of FDevs plan. The lack of a private group mode in XBone, seems to confirm this. Mobius is a workaround to a design feature of the game.
and that 2% is the largest private group in ED.

I have to ask then, where is the justification for the greatly smaller than Mobius open only crowd to demand a separate Universe?
Edit: I find it interesting that Mobius is brought up and every time they are dismissed as a "minor" rather part of the player base, but it is completely ignored that Every argument for Open has come from even smaller percentage of the player base than Mobius, yet they feel justified for their demands while at the same time, drenched in hypocrisy, claim Mobius is just a insignificant minor bit of the player base.

And it is not baseless as you claim, how about you count all the people who have made demands and such... there are your numbers and far less than the factual of all who have joined Mobius. To claim that there are so many more who don't post yet believe as you do.. now that is baseless as it is pure conjecture.
You claim to be the voice of open, but are one person with an opinion who thinks he is talking for everyone in open and that everyone in open believes as the "voice of open" does.. talk about baseless.
I think you'll find, that like you - lots of people are too lazy to do any research in to the game (hence my "Wall of Information").
The history of the SOG threads is proof of that, as even your own points for open only or open buffs were debunked by myself and others with use of Google and the "Wall of Text" was born.
Proving you either never used Google yourself (so it is quite funny how you claim people know everything about Elite due to it), or you just took to deceit from the start?
People buy a game, and just hit "Play" - these forums prove that. As everything you can do in game is on YouTube and found through Google, yet people still ask basic questions that they can find the answers to themselves.
No one wants to spend time researching or looking things up - so things like Private Groups (Mobius and Cannon for example) are still widely unknown within the game.
I still regularly see posts containing "I've played for months and didn't know about [name of private group]".
Also, funny how Private Groups will be coming out on XB1 and there is already talk of a Mobius Group on that platform.
And finally, welcome back. I must admit, this thread has been rather slow without you.

I think I should just thank you for showing how PvE groups will never be as good as a PvE option in the menu where you can not shoot another CMDR, I was previously against the "magic shields" option, but you helped me change my opinion on this too, so thanks again.

We cannot even get a subset of players to leave other players alone who want nothing to do with them.

Myself, I spent 12 and a half years serving my country and it is actually why I cannot PVP. And I believe that if we need to fight we should, but would love it if we didn't have too. And for leaders who send you, me, and every other man or woman in uniform to fight, I feel should be there as well. It is so much easier to support war when you are not the one fighting it. Jockey's disgust I feel is that the people who voted to drop bombs and put their military members in danger... were laughing about it, people will die, terrorists, military members, and civilians... and they were laughing.
I would love it if No one had to carry a weapon for anything other than shooting targets or hunting for food, I am just damn glad you are not sleeping in Arlington, Riverside, Rosecrans, or any other National, or local cemetery. I Thank you for your service, I do not thank you for your attitude.
