I'm not complaining because solo is easier, i'm complaining that, in the specific case of CGs, solo players get the same (an potentially higher) rewards DESPITE being easier. THis is the only thing i was talking about. I don't want open to be easier, nor do I want solo to be harder, nor do I want players to be forced to play in any specific mode. I'm just saying that in a specific case where modes cross for a potential reward, lower difficulty should not yield bigger reward. That is it.
even when those in solo or group are heavily buffing the overall payout via their 'trade grind' contribution? basically you are suggestion that FD buff your payout based on your choice of playing in open mode, which in turn would be penalising those who choose to 'trade grind' in solo or group, even though they are a large part of why the payout is what it is. that hardly seems right, and i'm pretty sure would result in those same 'trade grinders' choosing something else to do with their time, which would have the knock on effect of taking a large chunk of the community involved in the community goal away from it..
i see a recurring theme here of players looking to themselves and only considering the effect of a thing from a singular perspective, and that is.. what i want.. what i deserve.. for the choices i made. but when pretty much every change i see being asked for, takes something away from players who contribute just as much as they do, are happy playing the game that was shipped, buying into the idea and principles behind it all. when i think of it in those terms i cant help think.. how extremely selfish that attitude is.
the current and future health of this game.. is bound up in each player, regardless of mode, platform, location, faction or profession. it is totally acceptable that some will prefer higher risk over others, or more player interactions etc, but that is a personal choice to give you exactly what you want when you play. how exactly is that any different to a player wanting to trade in solo, or explore in group, are they not also getting exactly what they want when they play? is that not the real reward here?
so why exactly should that equate to a different reward? the short answer is.. it shouldn't! if i spend 5 hours working my ass off 'trade grinding' towards a community goal, why should my reward be less than a player who is doing the same thing in open for the same amount of time just because they are in open? what makes their time worth more than mine? nothing!! the issue here is ego.. those players who think they should get more for playing open over solo or group, really do think they are better than other people because they play open.. i mean come on, its a game.. of all the things to measure yourself against.
