Cheers Cmdr's

Every time one of these threads was closed - someone would just start a new one, so it was decided to keep this version and just keep dumping all other versions of this in to 1 place.

It keeps the forums cleaner, makes it a bit easier for the Mods and this topic has somewhere to die - as lets face it, FD won't be changing it anytime soon. So a few people will just have to get used to the mode system or leave if it offends them that much.

I think that people who want to forcé other players to play in open, or who want separately modes, are people who really want to ruin other player's game experience.

I cant understand why some of you dont want let people to play their own way. How can letting that affect my game experience? I think community goals arent a reason that answer this solo/open debate thread.

Play and let play.

Pd: sorry for my bad english. Im spanish and its hard to me...

Last time I was in spain I used my only spanish sentence on a 6 year old girl "No habla espanol".

She didn't believe me :( and asked her dad why I wouldn't talk to her.

I learned a little, why is it only the useless stuff that sticks.

Roberto es tu tio = Bobs your uncle
No me puedo quejar = mustn't grumble
Para el carro = Stop the bus (closest translation to hold your horses)

I can get by with 'cerveza por favor'...

Cerveza is a staple, add vino tinto (red wine) & vino blanco (white) and you have all bases covered.

I tend to avoid spirits the tendency to mix 50% alcohol with 50% mixer can end the night early. It can also turn some PVE players into PVP players, who somehow think they can take out 3 anacondas in their sidey ;)

Full of eels? :D

Warning: clicking the above link can trap you in a seemingly infinite Wiki Walk. You have been warned.

Reporting your post for blatant click bait, luckily I realised it was TV tropes & my (internal) antivirus blocked your damn tricks, I have an important meeting at 9am and I want to play ED for an hour at least tonight.

Please read the forum rules, links to TV tropes (no matter how relevant) must be shown in red capitals with a warning you may lose the next 3 hours or more of your life, are not endorsed by FD or their employees in any way. Just like PKing, its allowed but it doesn't mean you should, I mean have some decency, post it at a weekend at least ;)

Edit, saw the warning lol RED & BOLD ;o)

Well, I did add a warning. Though perhaps I should have added something more like the following:

Powerplay openplay soloplay conundrum

I have one question about powerplay, how can I stop opposing players from opposing factions from forwarding the goals of their factions when I cannot see them if they are in solo mode?

It's like playing chess but you can't see where the opponent moves his pieces.

Don't think we will find out until they release it and we see the details.

In my opinion I don't expect a single CMDR to be able to influence much anyway.

The way I expect it to go down is that someone will notice a faction influence change in a system, post it to reddit or a forum and then people will come to try and tip the balance one way or another whilst others seek to tip other influences across the galaxy whilst the rest of the CMDR's are busy elsewhere.
Expect chaos ;)

I assume each faction will have NPC's that are actively working towards their powers goals so that soloists can still achieve this or be stopped from progressing their power.

Like this, you mean?

Kriegspiel - or "wargame" . It was later adapted into a variant of chess in which three boards are used, with neither player seeing the opponent's board or pieces, and the third board controlled by an umpire who executes the moves called out by each combatant.
