Interested to see 2.0. Its a big 30 GB download. Good to see Erin there.
Does anyone know if the screen stutter is framerate related or streaming related?

Fantastic sounding article coincidentally released with a new $350 ship? You can bet they've made all the features look and sound as great as can be.
Blergh.

That is wonderfully detailed and all...but do I need yet another mini-game to take me away from flying in space and having fun?

Hopefully it is quick and rewarding because I'm not interested in playing Mechanic Simulator

Complete with sucking air in through teeth and saying "It's gonna cost ya..." ;)

I like that 2.0 is going to the active bug testers first :). That's a smart move. I wonder how long it will stay on the PTU?

I didn't see the stream, but it doesn't look like I missed much .

That crucible looks pretty cool... And $350 nope nope NOPE

There might be a lot to complain about SC and I am very skeptic myself, but I don't get the complaints about ship repair.
I think it is a great feature... in theory. I have no idea how this particular system will feel in practice, but we will see.
I would love something like that in ED too.

Ship repair sounds overcomplex to me. I like the idea that the quality of materials available affects the quality of repair, but also think that should be as far as it goes. Elite doesn't go far enough, this sounds like it'll be too much.

So PTU 2.0 is under NDA. So no footage of actual gameplay.

PLEASE NOTE: We're respectfully asking this test group to refrain from livestreaming and taking screenshots during this test. We don't want anything spoiled for all of your other fellow Citizens. We want everyone to have that epic feeling of wonder and surprise when they get in for the first time, too!

So in other words, don't expect to see anything for weeks.

IMO, on an individual level it looks/sounds great - But as Monk said: Do we really need yet another mini-game?

Anyway, the livestream felt like an episode of Around the Verse. It wasn't bad, but it really wasn't worth watching live.
On the positive side, I used some leftover store credits to buy a P-72 Archimedes - That white paintjob reminded me too much of Imperial ships. :D (Which I love!)

So I havent had a chance to watch the livestream (started 3am local time) - what do you guys think overall? Did they give a release for 2.0? Was there any decent footage of gameplay?

Well the thing is that all the complex features SC has talked about sound great... in theory ;) the problem is that they can't even sort out the basic gameplay so maybe further complicating things by designing complicated mechanics like repair minigames, service attendant minigames, space farming simulation (not even joking) may not be the best use of their time and effort.

It was horrible, it was poorly done, CR said making a movie over and over again. 15min of the 1k million mile club, only 5 min of actual gameplay in the form of a re-recorded heavily edited video.

And then 2.0 is on the ptu but only 1k special invited people can play, and there is an NDA.

Overall it really was not worth watching.

Most open development in gaming history ...

Pretty valid point. It's a request though. Not a full NDA. Twitch users will be streaming soon. My friend Saurus is online right now downloading.
