My guess would be
No new ship sales !!!
Well it would certainly surprise me ;)

uhhhh... as it's something that is coming on one game update, it's something related to the game lol xD

I guess we will find out soon enough. If it's the starfarer on the hangar it's also cool as it's the biggest ship added to the game but it would be nice something that would impact all the players.

I think it's a coffee machine :)
You're getting warmer! :D

I genuinely thought that was parody, is it a real in-game thing ?.

You would be amazed by the number of backers interested on the in-game passenger transport activity.

On this one, more on roleplay, but this are supposed to be the kind of activities you would end up signing for if you just loose your ship and haven no money to buy another!

End up working for other players / AI serving drinks!

#SpaceLifeIsHard :D

I think I'd rather clear my save and go back to the starter ship. That mini-game really does not sound like anything even closely approximating fun.

I suspect you are winding me up.

2.1 Is About to Hit Live, they're on Launcher QA!

It sounds fun to me, just smaller bits of gameplay surrounding activities that are small bits of one bigger experience.

The base player transport is to be a thing, (not sure if AI plays a role here), has we are not locked to our ships yet to our character.... I suspect what's to happen is player organizations setting up services that will be needed around the game universe, this is one of them. However seems to be more roleplay immersive than anything else. But it's one Career option on the game, a real one, reputation system, seats, medical treatment, flight attendants (AI or Player), oh yeah, and drinks.

After all you're going to be inside a ship for God knows how long until reach your destination. ;)

And this is where we part ways, you're looking for a plain space simulator, i'm more into the whole bits and pieces that let us have complete different gameplay experiences that do not involve Piloting Ships or even Owning them. :)

Max I'm giving you rep for either successfully winding me up or the effort you put into that explanation.

That sounds horribly boring to me, but then I've worked as ship crew so from my perspective it sounds like a mundane shift-work thing.

Sadly no. Most of what CIG have vaguely described are all really crappy mini games. That the vast majority of people will never want to do for any length of time.

The MixMaster is connected to eight different beverages and has a rotating set of nozzles. Pressing one of the eight associated buttons causes the corresponding beverage to dispense until the button is released. Alongside the seat of the passenger that ordered the drink and the time remaining before a reputational penalty starts to accrue is the formula for the desired concoction. A formula such as 1-1-4-8 would indicate that two parts beverage 1, one part beverage 4, and one part beverage 8 are required. The quality of the drink – displayed on the MixMaster – is determined by how accurately the portions were allocated. If the player isn’t happy with the quality of the drink they can simply press a key to discard it and start anew, but ships carry a limited supply of beverages so this tactic should be used sparingly. Upon acceptance of a drink it is moved to a conveyor belt on the side. Thus, players can prepare multiple drinks in a row and then move to deliver them, or one player can mix the drinks and another can focus on getting them where they belong.

While a passenger in Coach would be fairly forgiving with regard to slow delivery times and a poor mixture quality, travelers in Business Class and up would expect much more, and repeatedly disappointing them would have an adverse effect on their opinion of the flight, and ultimately the player’s reputation.

For people like roleplayers, things like this are just perfect. For people who are not into it, then they won't be into it, but shouldn't be judging the players who are interested into the more "social" activities it's meant to offer.
I mean the Starliner sales, that is the ship meant to this activity prove people are interested on it.

The same way even today there's people who backed this game because of the First Person Shooter part, that is where they want to focus. And other people who are caring for the space flight / combat part of the game.

This is exactly what Star Citizen is, it's trying to deliver different gameplay experiences to people looking for a different experience. ;)

Boy you have to have a sad imagination to want to roleplay a flight attendant. NVM the game mechanics are as shallow as they come.

Sorry but you can't equate a mini game to playing a First Person Shooter, its not the same thing by any stretch of the imagination.

You can judge people as "sad" to want to roleplay on Star Citizen, on this kind of activities it's meant to offer, i won't, i myself already had RP on MMOs and it's really something big that unfortunately it's usually not one immersive experience (imagination!), what from the RPers i know when they saw this stuff on SC, just felt in love with it.

Yeah I can't, the FPS is part of the core, it's much bigger on gameplay, this is one secondary activity derivative from the Civilian Transport one.

I really don't care about parts of SC that do not interest me, that i'm not looking further to play, while there is others where the same stuff i don't care about is all they are on about. So that's just it.

Please the big spenders and alienate every basic package owner, it's also going to be very off-putting for new starters who don't think any PC game is worth $200. It's also about as pay to win as it's possible to be.
CIG claims most of their customers are owners of basic packages, but I almost never saw them in game. An Aurora is a more rare view than a Constellation. So i suspect those are most likely just whales creating accounts and buying basic packages to manipulate forum votes (because they actually believe these votes mean anything). I got a refund once I figured out that playing the tech demo is going to suck with only a base package.

I think I'd rather clear my save and go back to the starter ship.
The starter ship isn't free like it is in Elite.

The surprise seems to be the Vanguard is now flyable!
The update had hit on 2.1 for stability testing before Live btw, if all good it goes this night. :)

So it was a ship eh, the Starfarer is then supposed to also be added to the Hangar soon. The ship pipeline is really speeding up. o_O
So that adds to the Freelancer to ships you can fly with next update.

Mod hat off.

Don't be so quick to cast aspersions on what other people consider fun. Fun is inherently subjective. As a parent I can't imagine telling my child that their imagination is 'sad' just because they are interested in different things than I.

People love to play Euro Truck Simulator. Is that somehow 'low value' imagination?

Point being, people can and do enjoy different experiences and different play. To assume that your own is superior is, in your own words, 'sad'.
