More than any sane person would be in for.

But less than an amount that i really care about.

Any more than $60 for a video game is starting to look scammy to me. When you start talking about unfinished games above that price it looks even worse. You can push it to $100 or so if you really like the genre and get extra's and such.

$27,000 for a ship package that doesn't even come with them all is so far beyond credible I'm astounded they've not been forcibly shut down for it.

Its the ship prices that have always really put me off SC, I can take or leave all the comedy drama as just being funny but CIG's pricing structure seems deeply wrong on multiple levels.

Everyone is waiting for the flight model update in 3.5, but CIG did not update the SC roadmap yesterday. They DID update the SQ42 roadmap. It shows zero progress on the flight model. It hasn't changed from "122/144" since December 8th.

I dunno, if I was told I'd get a space game and all I got was an FPS shooter (awesome turretting on display there) with a space skin I'd feel pretty scammed.

Is persistent progress and ship upgrading/purchase in the actual game yet? Have they started development?

Did Tod Pappy really just say the new flight model is simply a change to amount of thrust and rotation rate?

Also, city planet will be completely walled off apart from special landing zones, as well as be completely flat. I wonder what the point of any of that actually is?

To be fair, that's all the current flight model does to begin with, only using a pointlessly over-complicated backwards-calculating physics-alteration system that was designed to reduce the design burden for the ship builders in a way that no-one ever fully understood.

So it makes sense that CIG would just recreate the same thing, again, but perhaps in a way that they occasionally understand. [haha]

Could it be because someone who barely understand physics asked for fidelicious realism in his cinematic space[but it's not very important]-[let's pretend it's a]sim?

The kind of perfectionist to think a quasar can hide in a star system?

Do you mean actual shows, or more just some general <bleep>show kind of deal? Because there's a lot of that left…

I just had a go. It didn't crash and it ran ok. The movement is diabolical. Jerky and unresponsive. Pressing F to activate stuff induces a drunken behaviour in the cursor. Oh and the radar was glitchy, it was just a white sphere. Glad I only paid 30 quid for that AURORA LN and The single player game. Not impressed. Isn't it a sad day when you get more fun out of No Mans Sky.

Kind of, but you still get reset to your last station rather than last location away from your ship and lose your ship if you log out incorrectly (or might be a bug at the moment even if you do log out in your bunk). But there are still server wipes so any progress is gone every few weeks/months. So you can spend ages grinding for a new ship only for it to be wiped.

Of course they have started development. Of course, they spent X years building the company and pipelines first, so development only really started (current_year-2) ago, the pipelines were only really coming together (current_year-1) ago, but things will really start coming together in (current_patch+1) and release is only (current_year+2) away!

Did they really just cancel CAD aswell? https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/am42mg/psa_calling_all_devs_is_cancelled_indefinitely/

What is actually left in terms of shows?

The Chris Roberts Show!

How does RSI use my subscriber funds?

Subscription revenue contributes to Star Citizen project development by funding behind-the-scenes shows like Around the Verse, Reverse the Verse, Ask the Devs, and the “10 For the” series in addition to Jump Point, the monthly digital magazine about Star Citizen. This revenue also funds the development and release of subscriber-exclusive perks like the monthly hangar flair series and exclusive subscriber merchandise!

If CAD has been canned does that mean backers have been cancelling their subscriptions or are CIG now using that subscriber money for game development?

Nobody really knows what they do with the subs. Judging from recent general opinion on subs, most folks aren't long term subbies but simply renew or sub depending on what the ship of the month is.

If it's kinda carp, the greater majority will hold off and perhaps sub on a month when there's something more interesting or just before a major update as the upcoming ships not yet in game are usually subbie exclusives for early flight tests before general release into the PU. Subbies also get first wave PTU access.

I can't recall anyone being that fascinated by the Subscriber 'flair' since nobody can see that little Xmas tree in your hanger except you...we don't get anything cheaper or more exclusive than general backers except special subbie exclusive armour for a few shill-bucks in the subbie store which we can use in the PU for totally imaginary bragging rights and a ton of utterly useless 'Rec' electronic currency every month to buy stuff to use in Arena Commander...which nobody plays anyway.

Basically, the whole subbie thing is a wannabe big boy badge with absolutely no benefit or exclusivity for your extra $10/$20 per month whatsoever....the red armour is pretty though...in a newbie looking like a peeled tomato kinda way and simply an added colour wash of basic available in game armour you can get for free anyway.

That actually seems like quite a sensible approach!

You actually need Devs for that. Calling all trainees and jpeg salesmen just doesn't have the same ring to it. They should make a "Calling all Whales". Nothing but pretty pictures of spaceships and a whalesong soundtrack.

Hey! Those pubescent teenagers are actually SENIOR devs!

Never stop posting Mole. Its really refreshing to hear the opinion of someone who really wants this to succeed, is invested, but also has their eyes wide open and is critical.

PS: Carp?
