Oh, what fresh Hell is this?
He helped a lot of companies to sell/buy but has a solid history of administrative activities too. And to be honest he doesnt look like a "fall-guy" to me.
So why is he needed now?
He runs a VC firm.
Wild speculation: He has access to money and a history of investing in tech, CIG hit him up, get cash in return for a seat on the board. This has not been made easily public to backers for... reasons.
Unlike Chris Roberts's solo efforts he has a pretty successful track record so this should all be fun!

My personal opinion.....somebody has to keep the company going when CRoberts and family start to run. Thats going to be hard to explain.
