We know of course that many of the A list actors used for the now 4 year old mocap shoots will never turn up for those subsequent and purely imaginary chapters 2 and 3
That just served the purpose of CRoberts achieving his dream of making it big in Hollywood, and pretending to be a film director, and confirming he never cared about video games (as Warren Spector said). They also certainly spent tens of millions$ of backer money on that, if we refer to what happened with Wing Commander 4, and all of this was just flushed down the toilet if we believe the roadmap and "CiG official response" that has been published on their forums, since they say they completely rebooted the development from zero for achieving better fidelity.
How can cultists defend this, given their hard earned money was blatantly squandered ?

and Sqn 42 seems to have had a rewrite, splitting the original first chapter into many sub chapters making up a campaign.
To be fair that's common to have sub-chapters and so on.. The disappearance of chapter 2 and 3 is the real problem IMHO.

Not to mention suffering a complete relapse after 6 years of (alledged) development work and most of the assets seemingly being flushed down the toilet and now being refactored back to white box stage... Once again, the involvment of CR in anything resembling a managerial role has practically put the kiss of death on the original fidelacious dream.
I believe there was never any game. What was shown at different stages were just cut scene animations, and it's not the first time they used a machinima (=3D movie that uses a game engine) to show off a "demo", remember that sandworm.. Still, they managed to surprise me with their roadmap showing they are still at stage zero of development. And yeah CR should be removed from management and put in a mocap suit so at least we can have entertaining hand waves.
I have this belief because CR is just like a child and is unable to contain himself, if he has something to show you can be certain he'll run around with it.

Bad boys, bad boys...what ya gonna do?

I went to Lorville tonight to welcome in the Yule season with 2 amigos, cunningly disguised as NPC's (with matching Arran jumpers and Stay-Press slacks) and totally irritated fellow space commandos by blocking doors, lifts, train doors, ship terminals and the like.... then flipping them the bird or pointing and laughing when they tried to muscle us out of the way... very childish, but strangely satisfying...

We tried stowing away in a handily parked Hammerhead after following one particular commando into his hangar...which failed miserably after he self destructed his pride and joy to be rid of annoying faux NPC's blocking the doors and lifts everywhere he went...

We all managed to survive by hastily donning our proper space commando suits before the almighty bang and escaping via a handy hatch but were left floating in space with nobody willing to rescue us from our distress beacon for the 10 credits we were prepared to stump up between us for the aid....Not a charitable bone within the average commando it seems...

A little festive break away from our usual mining and cargo hauling.

Mingling amongst the crowd as we were...It seemed that even the real NPC's in Levski were feeling the warmth of the Christmas spirit [where is it]

Last pic looks like he is reaching into the other guy's body to rip his heart out.

Guy on the left playing invisible slap bass deserves a medal :D

That's Mental, our erstwhile turret gunner for the taxi run to Lorville...I took the guns off the turret of the Cutlass before we let him in there...since he went to the "GIT SUM!" school of gunnery.

Shoots at anything bigger than space dust if it moves... He wasn't much different in the Army as I recall. Kicked off a 4 hour firefight with the Taliban near Mazār-e Sharīf after shooting a goat he swore had Semtex strapped to it [rolleyes]

That's not quite how I interpreted it...but I live in Orkney...not a lot of that 'heart ripping' business going on at the local shop [where is it]

Interesting. I've never been military myself, but way back I used to write firmware (or wet, as it was actually called) for engine telemetry modules. During one of those tests we had to zip off a ZSU-23-4.

Completely glorious :D

I only remember the 23-4 and it's sister, the 57-2 from unfortunately being downrange of a couple...T-T's sometime weapon of choice to upset us since the Russians kindly left a few behind for them to play with after they bailed ;)

For a time, it was daily life for us in the land of exploding rocks, eating a cold breakfast in a shell scrape under the belly of an old Russian T-55 avoiding the morning mortar sessions...I'll never forgive T-T for blowing up my last remaining and pristine boil-in-the-bag breakfast of peaches in chocolate sauce along with the most comfortable pair of boots I ever had...exciting times.

Boys and girls: It's 8pm on Christmas eve in NZ, and the single malt is upon me.

Be you citizen or goon, casual observer or True Believer in the One True Sim, may I wish you and your loved ones a very happy holiday & new year.
May all our dream-crafting come true, we all walk among a billion stars, and our graphics cards never overheat.

Merry Christmas my dudes.

Dave.

Merry Christmas everyone and enjoy the ceasefire - while it lasts!

If this was WW1 I would suggest a game of football ;)

Merry Xmas all. Some may be optimistic about ED and SC and some may be pessimistic but we are all space game fans and that is what matters :)

PS I have just discovered old golden hen. That is an really easy drinking "cooking ale". Way nicer than speckled hen imo
