CQC is a fail, not proper pvp.
When you go to pvp you have to know that you can lose not match but a precious ship. You know what adrenaline is ?

Ps pve in eve is the same as in elite. Instances with multiple npcs to kill. Nonsens like hazardus zones with unlimited pirates

On the contrary, that's a good thing. The poll is trying to determine the difference in numbers between two polaraised views. If you're ambivalent or have no opinion that's great but you have no influence either way, so just don't reapond.

If it were a poll about finding out what EVERYONE wanted you'd need a "both" option and maybe even an "i don't care" button, but that's not the question it's asking.

Thanks, happy to see at least someone understands why I only included the two exclusive options.

To be clear: I like both playstyles, too (even though I prefer PvE most of the time), but I didn't want to ask people about what they wanted to play ideally, but rather which of the given two option holds higher priority for them. After all, if someone asks you "what car do you like more, a Jaguar or a Ferrari?", saying "both" doesn't really answer the question asked - even if its your true opinion.

I'll personaly stand my ground and keep saying your poll is flawed for the lack of "both". It may not be your goal, but it's attempting to divide -yet again- the community as a whole, in two severly limited options. PvE and that's it, or PvP and that's it. You've been around long enough to see that this posture has not brought anything good yet. Quite the opposite, in fact. Speaking of fact, ED is both PvP and PvE, among other things. To keep opposing PvP and PvE as gameplay options will never serve the game.

The question "what car do you like more, a Jaguar or a Ferrari?" is doing only one thing noticeable: it's creating a clivage between Ferrarists and Jaguarists. Nothing more. Does it need to be asked when you can have both?

Where is the 'both equally important' option? I would probably have voted for that - instead I voted for PvP, which to me is more exciting/less repetitive.

Yes, ED is clearly both, PvE and PvP. I agree. You are absolutely right. BUT! I didn't ask "should ED be only PvE or only PvP?" That's what people are reading into it because - and there you are right again - they are so used to get divided into two opposing groups. That was honestly not my intention here. I might have done a bad job here, but as pointed out several times I tried to put the poll up as neutral as possible. What I wanted to know was, which of both playstyles people value higher. A genuine question. Perhaps because I got the impression there are a lot of PvP folks around lately and that me demanding more "PvE stuff" from FD might actually not represent the wishes of large parts of the community, I don't know.

Anyway, I did not intend to say

"If you could only have one, which would you choose?",

but rather

"You can have both, sure, but which is more important to you?"

PVE for me! Later at night, after i work i prefer my PVE Elite to relax.

Sometimes some players assume i enjoy PvP when doing PVE CGs, so i wave them goodbye and leave to solo or private.

Well, I guess if someone really enjoys both modes exactly the same, the poll is really not for them. I assumed that even if someone likes both playstyles - like I do - they'd still have a slight preference for one over the other, a slightly higher priority - also true in my case - without having to dismiss the other one as worthless.

It's an important clarification indeed. I confess I understood the first proposal :)

Then again, I honestly can't decide. I tried, really. Took a step back, thought about the way I play. I don't do that much PvP because I'm a loner and loners don't use wings (slogan for free here), but I enjoy it tremendously when I get into it. I always play in open, I enjoy player interactions, not only fights, and the game would not be the same for me should any of these elements disappear. But I tried to answer your question, I swear I tried :)
