Greetings,
Maybe the OP knows the following or not but it might also help others reading the thread. It's what I do.
There are three ways to get back to the bubble.
1. Fly back.
2. Never land anywhere then destroy your ship. You will respawn at the last station you were at in the bubble.
3. Mess up destroying the ship and a player will get back a lot sooner than intended.
Item 2 only works works so far out as eventually a player will need to go SRV prospecting for materials needed for synthesis (see the inventory menu) to keep the ship happy. Some players having no desire for exploration fulfill Professor Palin's 5000 LY travel requirement out then destroy the ship so that they don't have to fly back. It must be those combat players. Thus access to the spiffy grade 5 thrusters.
If a player is considering extreme distances spend some time on Google researching how to supercharge the FSD with Newtron stars. Here's a start with the
Neutron Highway.
FSD Injection synthesis can also increase a jump by 100% using materials obtained by SRV prospecting along the way. Many stock up on the rare Polonium before leaving the bubble.
A Class 5 Guardian FSD booster adds 10 LY jump and is well worth the effort to obtain. Even the lower classes will make a big difference. It is also one of the easiest Guardian goodies to obtain.
All the above are very useful and often a lifesaver for an extreme explorer even if they are not interested max jump range. Sometimes the galaxy can be harsh. It's good to have solutions. Put a ship together, do a "local" run working out the bugs before travelling 65,000 LY from the bubble. A player may even decide on another ship. Too late to get it right even at Colonia 22k LY out...Well they do have three Engineers that increase their abilities with player support.
Finally here is an
Asp Explorer I've taking out for a spin. It is A-rated, fully engineered especially with thrusters on high gravity planets and no it doesn't need beam lasers. But with lightweight engineering only dropping the jump range 0.10% they make me feel good!
Find what makes you feel good.
