The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

My advice: don't rush it, appreciate every moment of its wonderfully written stories, characters and rich dialogues, as there will never be a Witcher game again... (curls on the ground and cries silently)
Thats not 100% sure, as far as I know CDP Red only said Geralt is done, I think they left the door open for other games in the setting with a diffrent main character. I could think of a character to take that place...

Lambert?

Anyway, Geralt is too awesome to be replaced. Its like those lousy new Star Trek movies, there's only one captain Kirk.

I just got Blood and Wine dlc and I must say - new area is gorgeous. And looks like its a massive dlc with tons of stuff to do.

Yup! It is pretty much like a standalone game. :) And CDP optimised a lot as well so it doesn't just look good, it runs great.

But the poor guy deserves retirment :D

True, he truly deserves it. And its was all he truly wished for. One of the things I like the most on the Witcher series, is that the protagonist is not "the designated world saviour", he was just a guy trying to make a living with normal cares and wishes, that just happened to be at the wrong places at the wrong times and got caught in terrible stuff. In Witcher 2 he just wanted to take off with Triss and have a peaceful life, and suddenly someone kills the king while he was in the room... In witcher 3, he just wanted to find his daughter...

This stuff just feels a lot more organic and immervise than the current trend of "Instant You're The Best" games like Fallout 4 or Dragon Age Inquisition, where you play for 30 minutes and you're already the designated Special One, leader of the Inquisition or General of the wasteland freedom fighters.

As for another Witcher game, Lambert is a great character , but not sure if it would be a great protagonist. There's also Ciri. But I think W3 closed the chapter for all those characters, they actually die on some of the endings, so if it comes back it will probably be a whole new set of characters.

If they do go back to this I think it's telling that you hear a lot about the fact that there are no more schools for witchers anymore. I think a reboot might see you taking on the role of a new trainee in a new school. A complete nobody but obviously being taught and led on the path by some old faces.

That's what I'm hoping for. I'd like to design my own witcher. Set the game in the past when the witcher schools were still around.

What this game does a very good job of is making simple gameplay (go whack monster with sword) seem different every time. ED could probably learn something from this. Great game.

I'm kinda satisfied with this one... :)

True, and the very large amount of different creatures / enemies with different strenghts and weaknesses makes it all better.

Also, the parry / dodge is done in such way that every fight feels like a proper duel, not just a button smasher. Even tournament fist fights are awesome.

The only con I could ever find in this game is that ever present inertia in Geralts movement, like he is always skidding.

Yeah, I think I fell to my death more than I was killed by monsters. Also, I hate when he goes into "tiptoe" mode in the middle of a fight. Got me killed many times in the last battle of Blood and Wine. Hey, a giant swarm of bats is headed for me, better walk super slow!

Decided to re-run this game and start fresh, now with all patches and expansions. When I finished that in 2015 I've got a worst ending possible when everyone dies and Geralt sits there alone in that hut in a swamp.

I was so emotionally empty after that so I couldn't honestly play. Strange, it's just a videogame....

Anyway. Now I've started fresh and reached level 10 already. What can I say? If someone would ask what game at this point you consider the best, I'd say Witcher 3. Sorry TES. Sorry, GTA. Sorry Battlefield. Sorry ED. But currently it is true. For me, at least. I honestly think overall Witcher 3 is best computer game made to date.

The depth of it, landscapes, stories and quests are just out of this world. Hopefully next TES will reach the same level.

As I recently dived in to Blood and Wine DLC after completing the main game I have to agree - at the moment W3 is THE best computer game I have ever played.
Also I got incredibly lucky and somehow I got the best ending for the main quest. But I can perfectly see how depressing the bad one mus be.
