Servers Still down.... but i'm finally giving Metal Gear 5 a solid go and I must say it's an amazing game. Terrestrial does life feels so quaint though. It certainly will be good to get back in the chair.

You are of course entitled to your option, regardless of how offbase that opinion is. ;) We are beta testing THE GAME. We shouldn't also be forced to beta test the servers the game is running on. Last time I checked, that technology has pretty much been defined and should for the most part perform as one would expect servers to perform.

FYI: I've been a professional beta tester for over 30 years, so yes. I do know a little bit about the process. ;)

Thanks Brett. They have been down for going on 7 hours now. I'm including the intermittent behavior starting for me just after 9:30AM PDT when I started to get kicked off every 5-10 minutes.

Impressive. You should understand about stress testing, updating servers to remove flaws etc then. Start complaining if it still happens after release but atm roll with it. You'll have a much happier life.

I'm more convinced that by "professional" he means he's signed up for public betas consistently, not that he's actually been hired and paid by developers. He thinks pretty highly of himself, only to contradict his own statements several times over and not really seem to understand that testing servers are an integral part of multiplayer betas. Then again, he only plays games by himself because we Xbox heathens aren't up to his standards. Don't worry, you'll be on his "ignore" list pretty soon if you disagree with his statements.

Stress testing generally involves allowing the testers to have access to the game the servers are pushing. ;)

I'm done arguing with you. Suffice it to say, that there has been no announced XB1 stress test scheduled for today. All of that is on the PC side and has nothing to do with our current servers. At least that is what I have read to date on the subject.

I had hoped this to be sorted by the time I got home, and it isn't. I can't connect to the authentication servers... Bummer.

Yea sure there only going full release in less than a month, why would you guys expect this game to be running???? Lol seriously i think we are past this immature response and lame excuse of beta , but hey maybe its jus me.
