This game urgently needs a CUSTOM GAME

The map things aren't even that big an issue they are decent size. Plus you can find tons of mods currently for the maps to help with size. The custom game options for research and expeditions and etc though.....nothing.

The maps are definitely a big issue. Even on the biggest (probably Germany) you can only have around half the available species. Less if you use lagoons and aviaries which take up loads of space. Mods aren't a solution because A they aren't available for console and B even if they were updates for the game can break them.

Adding my vote to the hat, and respectfully requesting Frontier to at least add extra options to Sandbox (enable research/expeditions which is the easiest option).

Adding my post just to ensure this highly requested (and seemingly easy to implement feature) topic remains among the top of the charts.

Gameplay ALWAYS trumps content.

I would rather they fix/add this as opposed to adding random new DLC content.

Thank you.

Hello @Jens Erik , I understand that it would be very difficult to respond to each and every topic in this busy board.

But at the same if could you please let us know if this request is being looked at or considered, even if not fully implemented, that would be really appreciated by a lot of community members :)

I respectfully ask this, only because this is probably the most highly requested feature (adding selectable options in sandbox to do research/fossil hunting), which seems simple enough, but would greatly improve re-playability of this good game for a lot of us.

Thank you!

It could be a very good thing to know if the dev team consider the community main request... Or not (So I could stop hoping and coming here every day… and forget this game).
It’s really sad to see a game with so many cool features but without his most important game mode.
I played JWE for years. I played JWE2 four days…
One of the worst recent disappointment for me (with cyberpunk 2077).

Let me add my two cents, in the videogame series Tropico there is an option for map generator and while the details of JWE2 blow out of proportion even the 6th entry, I feel we can have archipelago locations like the 5 Deaths or costume maps using templates of locations (think of a German sized map but: in a dry desert (SW and Arizona) scheme, in a Tropical forest (could be Nublar South, East or West for all we know if we wanted to recreate 5 zones of IN, which we seem to only have Nublar Center (2015) and Nublar North (1993)) scheme, in an Alpine (NW USA, Canada, Washington, California, Oregon) setting and ina an snow desert (if you have seen the latest teaser trailer for the teaser trailer of the Winter Olympics featuring that ice skater and a beautiful herd of Parasalophus surrounded by snow covered mountains and the like and contrary to dry desert maps this place uses forests but the need is cut by half) . Each place would have the same template of Germany but with the skin and requirement of the biome we set (much like the era).

From what I understand of the first game the main campaing (and Wu Secrets) took place with people actually being able to move from the islands so that opens an idea to me: imagine using both the Arrival points given to us in the main game for each faction and, like the monorail station on Isla Nublar 2015, we have access to a port area and we unlock the Ferries as a method of trabsportation between all maps. Like JWE1 what we research on one island we unlock on all so for this Chaos Mode mission (and Sanbox later on if we chose) we are required to position all the R&D buildings on the location of Wu Secret Facility from the DLC and we would be required to only use the park to create JWE1 hybrids not present in the base game as well a few others involving the flyers and swimmers and shipping them off to the different locations.

We would unlock a second Sorna map for separate use in Sandbox in fact, the ability to travel almost seamlessly between all islands would be that mega Chaos Mode (storms will not hit or dinos won't escape while you are on the other islands during the Remake of the JWE1 main storyline) and on Sandbox mode you must launch each map on its own. If you are wondering how we unlock all the islands we do so ala San Diego TLW CM: as we progress through the story we must aquire the permits to the other places and then they become sandbox solutions.

When I mentioned Tropico 6 is because the game allows players to build bridges to connect islands now, it would look ugly but, they could open new options for adjacent locations.

add research in freeplay mod or sandbox
add an option
love have a rescu heli and mission plus lethal gun please
sorry bad englich

Considering most posts here only get a handful of replies and most of them don't even get a 2nd page, let alone 6 pages i really hope that is not the case.

Getting close to the "If i knew this before buying the game, i wouldn't have bought it" stage.

I'm really surprised no one has taken the extra JP buildings from JWE2 and just ported them over to JWE1 for an even better JP era mod. I still personally think the first game is much better. The playstyle is more relaxed and fun. The campaigns are MUCH better than anything JWE2 has (yes, including chaos theory mode). Challenge mode is much better because it doesn't have those stupid conditions and lets you just play the game in either era. No scientists. And the game even looks better in my opinion. Like the way it's all textured it just looks more realistic than the second one. And the jeeps, they look better too. But I'm guessing that's a licensing issue for the sequel. If people were able to isolate and port over the new systems from JWE2 and port them to JWE1 so we could pick and chose what parts we wanted from it, then it'd be perfect. As of right now the only thing I actually consider an improvement in the sequel is more JP era buildings, the new aviaries, the lagoon, and the ability to have random dinosaur cosmetics. Get those into JWE1 and I'd likely never boot up this one again.

Been dead for me a few weeks after release, ever since I completed everything 100% and there was nothing left to play but all done or everything restricted mode to be precise. Haven't played in months and probably won't again if this doesn't change...replayability is at 0.001% for me right now which is just sad.

I'm really saddened by this and will likely not buy another Frontier game. I just don't understand how they bumbled this release so badly.
Same here. The feeling that Frontier ripped me off… after Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo and JWE1, it’s a real disappointment.

After the many requests from the fanbase related to things they needed to add it is honestly shocking how little was at launch as people asked way back in JWE1: kayaks, non dino attraction (roller coaster, spinners, balloon tours, etc), more maps (and while we got a bigger diversity of places basically none of JWE1 maps came back with the exception of Nublar 2015 and Nublar 1993 which are different from what we got).

Don' get me wrong I love the game, but even in Operation Genesis there was a map generator:

I'm glad there aren't non-dino attractions. Nowhere in the movies were there ever roller coasters and stuff planned for Jurassic Park or World.
