To the 4 pirates that relieved me of some of my cargo tonight, thank you. After an evening of trading you managed to liven up my game. After a bit of cat and mouse I was asked politely to hand over my cargo. I was more than happy to give you what u wanted. Keep up the good work.

Too right. At one point I was face to face with only one guy in a shield less asp ex. I'm pretty sure my conda could have taken him out but the guy was polite an no guns were deployed, good sports all 4 of them. Hope hey are about tomorrow as it livened up my evening no end.

This has effectively turned me off proper piracy. The amount of trader's who DO log sadly massively outnumber the ones that don't. It's a shame because a good pirate (an oxymoron, surely?) Can add to your game experience.

As much as I respect that piracy should be a viable option in the game, you'll never catch me handing anything over. Call it breaking immersion but I'd rather pay the rebuy than give the guy the satisfaction of a getting my goods.
Or the satisfaction of a good fight. I'll just put most of my pips in speed and boost, boost, boost, frame shift drive charging, then go all over the place jumping jumping jumping until I find a close enough station to the star, then camp out there for a while.
Call it cowardly, I call it being spiteful and I love it. People consider pirates "griefers" or "trolls" so I guess I "troll" the "troller".

your lucky, i flew through wolf 1301 and get ganked by a wing, go to sol get ganked.nothing on me either. lost a nice chunk of change lol.

Also, if I may ask where are you pirating? Doubt we'll ever see eachother anyway as we have always had trouble instancing so I don't think I will be stealing any costumers.
How is it not? You have some weird defintions of piracy. You shoot the trader because they're running? Nope, that ain't piracy! You are asking for the cargo and get it without a fight? Nope, ain't piracy!

Sometimes I'll ask the big Corvette with shields and guns.. ''Got any shinys mister?'' he tells me to get lost or shoots me I kick his rear end and ask again. Can make for some pretty hilarious moments when they think you're actually asking and not demanding.
I guess its academic. True pirates would immobilise the ship and steal everything including your vessel. But in the game this is not possible so you "pirates" have to act like Turpin in order to make any credits.

How much cargo? Depends on ship and if I'm in a wing. So what are you flying and how many are in my wing?

For the python thats acceptable but for an Asp that could be 40-50% of their cargo! Presumably in a wing you would ask for more.....No wonder you get an angry/kamikaze/log out response!
I've been playing on and off since GPP days and have never been pirated. Closest I've got is a CMDR in a corvette pulling me out of supercruise in the last community goal. I made the mistake of hoping he was going to pirate me and so not running away. Then he just opened fire with no comms and I see the rebuy screen. That's why it's called Elite Dangerous I guess.

Bigger fish to fry than an ASP in a wing. Space cows, Cutters and Vettes. 80T from any of the big 'uns for my while wing sounds reasonable.
