Thrustmaster T-flight HOTAS One - Anyone else having Yaw problems?

Very sorry to hear that :(

I do know how is it possible that Thrustmaster doesn't address the issue after all the user complaints (both Xbox and PS4) over the years. It would just require to use a better potentiometer... 2€ for 4 proper potentiometers.

It would be nice if Frontier could put to the Thrustmaster attention this issue and give a better tool for console users (also because there are any other Hotas for consoles) and maybe have in exchange their hotas sponsored directly in the Frontier store/forum. So all will be happy.
They wont.. The PC users have suffered thrust masters QC pot issues for longer than consoles have...
The T16000M is just as broken on the yaw...

Can confirm...
The "failure by design" is identical (looking at 3 yaw-dead sticks to my right lol , those followed about 6 dead T.Flight HOTAS X that all died within months from the exact same failure).

My next HOTAS might be expensive - but it sure as hell won't be a Thrustmaster anymore.

Ok Commanders I have just brought one of these to use with Windows 10 and so far Elite Dangerous Sees the hotas but can I get the hotas and WIN10 to react nope Nada what am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there,

what do you mean Elite Dangerous "sees" the joystick, but Windows doesn't? Elite is running in Windows, or do you mean you are using an XBox and it is working there but not on a PC? (In which case: check the PC/XBox switch is correct at the front of the joystick - where the rudder pedals would connect..)

I just realised that was an old question, ignore this post..

Sparked up my xbox for my new free account, dusted off the old thrustmaster, guess what....yup....yaw. I hope many will read about how poor the thrustmaster is and not buy the damn things. Annoyingly I had done the repair on it only just before I stored it. Oh and thanks Moley for the instructions on how to repair. If only there were another xbox hotas...is there? Theres a market there.
Oh and graphite, thanks to all who endeavour to fix what the manufacturers should be doing anyway. Shame on you Thrustmaster.

Theres a market there.
Not enough... or there would be more...
The market is not big enough and never will be as there would be many more hotas just like the massively bigger market of steering wheels are on console driving games... Thats the market and unit value that makes many companies fight for sales with £300-£600 console models not only a single £70 unit..

I'm on my 2nd thrustmaster Hotas 4 (I'm on PS4 and willing to wait a while for a PS5) in less than a month, and within a week of receiving it, jitter began on the y-axis (first one developed roll axis jitter that then spread to all 3, within a day of owning it).

I'm going to try to clean the pots as the input jitter looks like the pot is sticking some. Don't care about longevity. Wifey is getting me a Titan 2 and 2 vkb gladiator sticks. It's cheaper than building a gaming PC.

But, what lube should one use after cleaning out the dirty crap TM is greasing their gimbles with?

"Microsoft also says that it’s “working with several third-party partners” to create additional peripherals for Xbox Series X|S, so it sounds like console players will even get to experience the frustration of perpetually sold out HOTAS and flight sticks as well. "

One can only hope!

Hopefully it will be better than the piece of trash we have now. Otherwise I say don't even bother if you aren't going to put out a quality product.

Honeycomb will be release products for Series S/X titles with Keyboard and Hotas use required for one game product only...
One will be a Direct PC cloned product to mirror real small plane controlls and the other will be a split stick and throttle units...
Due to support only being on one single title confirmed they will not state if xbox one, one x or one S will be supported...

Only Series S/X confirmed as thats the only platform there being required to support by the deal with microsoft...
As with any single game developed item Nothing else has to support it. just like the Hori AC7 stick was completely ignored by Fdev so can this be...

Here's a video I made to show you how you might be able to fix the yaw jitter.

Good luck!
Somehow I missed this post. The tape trick is great. I almost have an aneurysm trying to get everything back together again. One thing I also noticed too (because I have another stick which is a lost cause) is that all the other pots in the hotas are the same so I farmed a few of them. You just have to connect the proper wires to the terminals.

Reminder to me, as I have few Attacks somewhere

Annoyingly, since just before Distant Worlds 2, I've been having some kind of phantom input happening on the twist yaw. I'll be not touching the stick, and my ship will suddenly yaw to the left a little every few minutes. Same goes for trying to line up the camera, really annoying when it drifts to the left.

Anyone else experiencing this kind of thing?
Anyone who has, did you manage to find a way to fix it?

Should I contact Thrustmaster for a repair? It'll be out of warranty by now as I got it at launch in October 2017. Just making it really irritating to play the game, and I can't face going back to using the pad.

I've tried setting a dead zone on the yaw in the control settings but that's not helped at all.

Any help appreciated.
Yes me too. Its intermittent. I have a Thrustmaster T-Flight X bought in 2014 with 600hr.s on it. I thought it was that at first.
I don't use any shaping or modelling software.

Rather than scroll up I will assume no one has mentioned the VKB Gladiator. So I will. After going through 2 Thrustmasters and multiple disassemblies to fix the yaw problem, I bought this. THIS IS THE ANSWER TO THE STICK DILEMMA!! buy it and forget about it.
