Binds file for Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X

Hi Commanders,

Last week my computer went black and died. This weekend I got my new computer and of course installed ED first.
I am using my Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X but lost the binding file that I got from this forum almost a year ago. I can't seem to find the file (link) anymore on the forum.

Can anybody give me the link for this binding file? I remember it was created by a great guy long ago. The bindings where just perfect and he even created a nice PDF with all the mappings on it.

Thanks,

Input lag with Thrustmaster HOTAS X

Been playing with keyboard mouse and decided to spend money on a Thrustmaster because having extra buttons help.

But when flying around in training, i'm experiencing heavy input lag. No deadzone, no keys bound to the different axis, tried different USB ports, but I move the stick in any direction and it takes almost a half second for the ship to move in that direction. Letting go, the ship stops instantly.

I move the stick a cm, 10cm, full range and it doesn't matter; near half second to respond. Can anyone help me please?

This might be a moot question, but: Have you gotten the latest drivers?
Also, have you to set it to PC mode not PS mode? Make sure the light on the Throttle is green instead of red.

Checked PC mode, checked it's the latest driver from the site, checked that they're analog and not digital, swapped around different USB ports, all mentioned in my first post.

I would suggest going into the Windows Game Controller dialogue and see if the same thing happens - if it does then at least this rules out an issue specific to the game.

Have you tried unplugging all other USB devices? Removed any unused USB drivers? Tried it in other games?

How about uninstalling the TS driver and re-installing (I can't remember if Windows automatically installed the drivers for my T.Flight or not).

I'm just thinking of the things that I would try if I had the same problem. Hope you get it sorted.

I have just installed an SSD and also have a clean install of E:D. Like you I lost my binds file but was lucky enough to come across the set up video I copied mine from and posted a link to below. The other link is from the same guy who gives a tutorial on downloading and setting up Joystick Curves which will make your Hotas-X much more responsive. When I installed E:D, Windows installed the microsoft drivers but I visited the Thrustmaster site and downloaded the "latest" drivers for the Hotas-X as I found them more responsive in my original install. Also there is a on the bottom of the right hand stick which can be loosened (anticlockwise) for easier movement for people with a light touch and tightened (clockwise) for people with a heavy touch. Hope this helps.

I got my Thrustmaster HOTAS about a month ago. I was using a Logitech 3D Extreme 3D Pro joystick which was fine, but the throttle setup looked perfect for my needs.

However, when I got the Thrustmaster I didn't like their joystick. Limited options on the stick compared to the Logitech meant I had to put some commands back on the keyboard which turned me right off.

In the end, I kept the Logitech stick and only used the throttle side of the HOTAS with it. The Thrustmaster stick sits at the back of my desk unused. I now have an excellent combo of products that keeps my hands on the HOTAS 100% of the time in combat.

Opposite of me, I'd like an extra button/hat/thumbstick on the throttle but for me the stick is fine :) Then again I've changed my bindings more times than I've changed my underwear.

Now you mention it, that's something I forgot, my flightstick started to creek after about a month, most noticeably when it's moved slowly and when furthest away from the centre. It's not terrible. I just turn the volume up!

Mine is starting to do this too. Only creeks when making small movements with the stick. It's getting annoying enough that I am considering upgrading to a Saitek.

I may not have seen anything on this yet, but there is about 41 pages of information in this thread alone! I've managed to map things out, for the most part, on my Hotas X that I received last week, but I'm really not sure how to manage the forward and reverse thrust situation with the throttle. Either I can set it to go up to full forward, or into full reverse, but not both. And I haven't found a way to toggle between the two or somehow make both possible with the throttle alone yet. I'm pretty new when it comes to mapping details, so I hope someone here can help me figure this out before I go into the game itself and wind up crashing into the station because the ship just wants to go one way or the other and not just stay still!

The default setting is ship engine idle when it is in the middle giving you forward thrust from the middle to pushed full forward and reverse thrust from the middle to pushed fully back. I followed the Scots guy in the video in my post above's advice and set my Throttle to Forward Only and use the rocker for Fwd & Rev thrusters. When I need to reverse I just use the left rocker. As he says, how often do you need to reverse and having the throttle set to forward only means that in the centre it keeps you in the blue zone which gives optimal speed. If you do this though just remember to keep it all the way back when you want to stop.

I assume you really meant flight throttle, thrust I leave as keyboard assignments except for lateral thrust for which I use the U-axis (the slider on the back of the hotas-X throttle).

Ensure you have set in your options / controls / Flight Throttle = Joy Z axis / invert axis = ON / throttle axis range = full range and below these throttle increments = continuous

With those settings my hotas-X throttle works just great.

All the time in combat

All the time in mining

:D

Aha, I am just a general trader so haven't felt the need but thanks for the headsup.

Decided to try one of these, coming off a 3D Pro.

Spent a bit of time in training, killing the canisters.

Quite liking it, so far, but one thing is slightly confusing me....when I FA off and boost, then turn FA back on, I go into reverse for a few moments, then start going forward again.
Am I being a complete moron and missing something obvious?

After moving house I've not played for a few months. Then when trying to play for the first time again I find that all my Thrustmaster HOTAS keybindings all corrupted. Nothing working as previously. I had a variation of Smackers set up. So after downloading the BIND file i got that working. Then set about refining it to how i had it before -racking my brains trying to remember what i had assigned to where. So I had it set up and it was working ok last night, but then when starting the game up again today the ship controls work but i have to go through the menu stuff on the keyboard to get to the game?

i have attached other usb devices into the pc during this time - did i read somewhere that may have something to do with it?

What is going on?

Why have my keybindings stopped working in the first place? I just want everything back to how it was before

Had a power out yesterday and when it came back on I noticed that my Hotas-X was stuck in 4 axis mode(red light). In trying to resolve it I noticed that when right clicking the Hotas icon in the Printers & Other devices screen I didn't have the Thrustmaster screen, just the Windows one. Thinking that the power out had somehow deleted the installed thrustmaster drivers I went to their site to download a new set and found that there was a new update from earlier this year which apparently solves certain problems with Windows 8 & 10 users. I downloaded it but before I installed it I remembered reading here that some user had a problem like mine which was resolved by shutting down the PC/Laptop unplugging the USB and then replugging it back in again before signing in on the restart. I did this and it worked so I never installed the new Thrustmaster drivers I had downloaded as I just wanted to play the game to ensure that my control bindings were working again(they were). This morning I thought about installing the new update but although it is for all Windows systems it says it is a fix for Windows 8 & 10 and as I have a Windows 7 OS I thought perhaps I should leave well enough alone. At 66 I am not particularly tekkie orientated, however I thought I would post a link to said update at the Thrustmaster Support site for those of you who do use Windows 8 & 10 and to ask others if I should install the update anyway?.
