Thrustmaster to develop a HOTAS in conjuction with FD

"is that FD may well introduce" - conjecture, speculation, call it what you will! But logic would say that if they are developing this stick with Thrustmaster and selling as an ED stick then surely they would want to represent it in game, no? One would think anyway.

Ah I see - personally I'd call that a massive leap of faith! Wasn't the X56 also developed for Elite and space sims? I'd also say that 90% of the the sticks out there have the option of twist - I can only really think of the Warthog that doesn't.

On a side note - have you noticed any issues with your x55 sticks movement? Mines started to get real hard to push out of the middle area when applying fine movement - any sudden movements from the centre to the outer rim of the pot is fine, but anything precise causes the stick to creek and stutter. I tried to lubricate it the other day but it made no difference

This is a big issue, actually... I recently "robbed" someone of a Warthog for $300 Aussie, and I am desperate to buy the VKB t-rudder MKIV - however, despite allegedly being released mid June, there is no mention of it on the VKB store site. Stratojet seem to be taking pre-orders, but that is a 50% price hike. Being form Aus, I'm free to order from the Euro site. Now, if only they'd take my money! Why is it so hard to give people money these days?

I'd call it a small leap of logic myself. If they are shipping this stick with ED logos and endorsement all over it (and FD getting some cash from the sales) it would be rather silly (IMHO) to leave what would then effectively be a competitor's stick (it mostly looks like an X52 Pro) in the game. And it would make sense for the movement in game to replicate the stick's functions. Anyway, we'll see on that one.

No issues with my X55. It's my second one though - first was returned 10 days after the warranty ran out (thanks CPC) as the lights stopped working on the stick. Nothing more serious than that, but I figured it might be a harbinger of further issues. Try rotating the plastic disk at the bottom to different positions - I do remember on my first stick that, with the lightest spring, it wasn't totally smooth but rotating that disk thing fixed it.

I'd really like a spacesim optimized controller, especially if its built by Thrustmaster... The problem is, that i recently got a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. Once you touch that piece of hardware, every plastic made controller, regardless of quality and function, feels like a kids toy in comparison.
I hope they built a spacesim replacement stick for the Warthog base... (as the base is already compatible with the cougar stick).

Yup - the second I picked up the Warthog, I swore multiple time in my native tongue. It is a beast. I am not convinced I could go back to anything else...

I rate the T.16000M highly as a stick.

It looks better than the previous T.16000M that it is based on - yes, it's plasticky - but it works.

The guts are good, in my experience.

It is a very accurate stick - I've been using one for over a year paired with a CH Pro throttle (which will be kept in use over the warthog throttle for ED, due to the awesome analog thumbstick). The only real flaw with the T16000M, especially at the price, is the absolute plethora of buttons wasted on the base of the stick (12 in all) - a totally useless place, I think, on a HOTAS. At least three, if not four of those buttons could be moved up on to the handle - and more if they were to add a hat...

Great news!

My x55 buttons is starting to failing on the throttle and sticks jaw friction is so annoying.

I was thinking about buying a Warthog, but it is so expensive and no jaw in the stick. So I think I will wait and see what this one will be like

My x52 throttle started crapping out, wouldn't stay at minimum throttle. I took it apart and removed the indent and now it's great.

but then the rudder tension on my stick went... Grrr.

I wholeheartedly agree on the base buttons - I do use the throttle but it's not ideal. Anything that I would use the base buttons for I either use keyboard or Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs.

Or VoiceAttack. However, I do use the buttons on the base of my Logitech 3D Extreme. I assign non-combat things like cargo scoop, landing gear, lights, etc. Easy to find in VR as opposed to a KB.

It is, however, fairly easy to modify for anyone that knows what a soldering iron looks like, and knows how to operate a philips head screw driver - assuming one has the inclination and time, of course.

I Also have a Cobra M5 (the one with the cheap chinese internals, not the awesome 2nd version with the Njoy board), and have been toying with the idea transplanting the guts of the T16000M into the body of the Cobra M5. Of course, I can't do this until I get my paws on a set of rudders (HURRY UP VKB!!! Seriously!!!)
