Time for a class action lawsuit.

In Britain it is called “Group litigation order” if I’m not mistaken.

What do you see as the ultimate goal of this action?

Compensation?

Anything else?

In other words, what’s in it for us.

I suspect that the OP will find that British justice is less inclined to waste taxpayers money on frivolous legal action..
Obviously you don't understand how international trade works. one example

CD Projekt Red is looking to put an end to the class action lawsuit filed over the catastrophic launch of Cyberpunk 2077. The Poland-based video game developer issued a public message revealing that it was entering into negotiations for an out-of-court settlement.

CD Projekt Red recently shared an update over a class-action lawsuit filed against the company in December 2020. The message briefly details ongoing developments, including the suspension of the motion to outright dismiss the case, as well as the announcement of a possible settlement.

being in the UK does NOT make a company immune to law

Ah I see. So you are a shareholder in FDev and the board lied to you!

Maybe you should have added that in the OP for those that might be interested in joining you.

No such thing as a class-action lawsuit in the UK, which is where you would have to file your lawsuit because FDev is a British company based in England in a place called Britain which is in the UK on the other side of the pond known as the Atlantic. It's quite near Europe actually but no longer part of Europe, apparently. I used to live there, but they kicked me out for having a funny northern accent, ya nah.
Wrong again, i can file the complaint in my country of residence since the item was bought on a digital transaction .. read more learn more.

You think Star Citizen will be released in 2023?

Thinking that there are thousands of people out there willing to sign on to a lawsuit that won't have a leg to stand on is no longer the nuttiest thing I've read in here.
Depends on what calendar you use. After all it's only 1443 AH in the Islamic calendar so there is a chance it might get released by 2023 AH.

actually my pre-order was 59.95 not to mention the 49.99 in AUX which according to the EULA I can get all that back. and if I can get enough plaintiff with the same outsanding amount it will be considered the "default" amount per person, The fact that Frontier has been secretive about it's development of the game and dragged me out for a year before it revealed it can't fix the coding because "it's too hard" I could request more A LOT MORE.

They got you to buy Odyssey on pre-order then released a less than workable product, …
I wish there was an unlike option here. Odyssey is ok. Yes it needs some improvement for sure, but I feel I received value for my money. Was it the best thing I ever bought? No, but I play it anyway. A lawsuit? That is ridiculous. Buyer beware. Don’t like it? Don’t play and don’t buy their next game, that’s your choice.

reminds me of an old proverb " a fool and his money are soon parted" there are many things in the world that just let others walk over them grass, worms, vegetables, dirt but all of those items have no options so they have to let life just happen to them.. My apologies, I'm not a worm or a vegetable I have options and I plan to use them. Even funnier by your own admission the game is broken which makes me wonder, how many broken items do you keep for nostalgia?

Bizarre that you would expect to get A LOT MORE than what you payed for the game. At any time during the game you have been free to just stop playing if you weren't happy, they didn't drag you out, you dragged yourself out. Also I am surprised this thread is still open, threads threatening legal action are usually cloed pretty quick, but I suppose with Easter looming everyone is busy doing other things, except for all us losers on the forums of course!

Maybe they leave it open this night (over here) for the comedy content?

If I were the OP I wouldn't mention what I paid for "AUX", as that might indicate that he somehow enjoyed the game..

Ooooh, wake up to fun thread!

Go right ahead OP. Please report back after you have spoken to a lawyer and he's assessed the situation.

I'm not sure what legal grounds exist for any sort of lawsuit. The only angle I could see would be is FD advertised minimum spec. You can't sue a company for "being let down". Otherwise people would be able to sue companies non-stop. Take a look at steam reviews, hell, almost every game has people who feel like they were let down by the product.

You have to have something specific that can be claimed under the law, not just hurt feeling. Any lawyer would just laugh you out of the room if you tried that approach.

Your fears were unfounded. Everything is lovely and fluffy.
It's not too late.

Some bright attorney, barrister or judge may remind you that this game is a "Beta".

And by definition, a beta product is an incomplete code, subject to bugs and other defects, which YOU agreed to when you purchased the game, via the game's EULA.

A beta is any software still under development that's made available during a software release life cycle to a select few to test, examine, and report problems. Beta testing allows developers to find problems they may have missed and fix them before the program is released.

As far as I know, Elite in all it's forms was never released as a finished product.

A good defense attorney will argue that those who participate in beta testing products know full well they are playing and paying for products that are not finished or released products.

Just for giggles, I just spoke to my brother who is an attorney and he said, "anyone can file a court case for anything. But the chances of this making it to a "class" are non-existent, because everyone involved, the company who offered the game as a "beta" and those who play the game as a "beta", all knew and accepted the terms of the EULA that this game is NOT a released product and subject to bugs and defects". Just the act of purchase or play requires you to accept the terms of the EULA and the fact the game is a beta and not the final product.

And I don't know where you got the idea that FDev made any statement about the game being "too hard to fix". That's just rumor and speculation. So, show us a post where FDev or Frontier made that statement.

Good luck on your legal pursuits.
