Time to remove BGS exploits

Not 6 groups by any measure. But, the beauty of the Alliance is we are a unified defense force. For the most part. We are all allies who communicate and care for each others factions. For the most part.

Their, they're and there.

They sound the same but mean different things.

Their jeans are pink which make me think they're gay, and they are sitting over there.

Nah, that's the bug report forums. It has got removed now, due to being off topic I guess, but we live in the age where nothing gets truly lost. As much as I'd love to have an insight in your heads.

Also...six is a bit of an exaggeration, we really didn't have many more numbers than you do. And we know you had help from FRC and AA because we met them on the field and finding out who represents who is fairly easy with Inara nowadays.

However, don't underestimate how hard a single Alliance player can go. It is always more than double than you can imagine.

That's the problem I have with BGS. 1 person should not be able to single handedly destroy inf, economy, whatever it may be. That's just ridiculous.

Fun Fact: "Handedly" is not a word according to this forum. Squiggly red underline....

AA isn’t a fed group, they’re multinational. Their goal is to defend new players from griefers. I’m surprised that you didn’t have a few of them on your side, they love a good fight.

I was talking about my FNN posts to our site that I’m happy that you’ve read, not the bug report thing. Thanks for the compliment there mate! Glad it’s not unappreciated.

Hello commanders
Now that we know their are going to some quality of life improvements coming to Elite in season 3 some of the exploits that are in the game need to be addressed. Mostly the exploration data exploits and combat bond exploits.
These exploits are holes in the BGS that need to be looked at and fixed as soon as possible!!!
Why stop there? Fix all of the 1 transaction methods in the BGS.That includes:
- Security/Clean ship killing
- Bounty vouchers
- Combat bonds
- Exploration data

Only thing I've seen from all of this is this :

The EDF fought alone against an alliance faction that called in nearly every player they could..... and only just lost, and they've fought the alliance to a standstill in
every other contested system. and thats with alliance attacks on EDF space

and we did it in open too...Something your guys were very noticable in not being in

Bill

BTW you had to get federal rank to get the 128 permit...... as did everyone who fought against the federation...

Aren't you tired of using that "we're playing in open and you don't" gag over and over again?

Also, let's address some points:

a) You also called for help and groups did respond. They were met in the field, in open. Which you would have noticed if you actually spent time fighting the war within the combat zones instead of murdering. (not that I blame you, it was the right choice in terms of effectiveness)
b) Your mainland wasn't getting attacked at the point of contention of Ross 128.
c) Sure we needed the permit. And we very much are looking forward to removing that requirement when FD stops being so reluctant to accept player emergent content.

But since we're touting our horns here, you forgot the part where we are defending 2 factions from your attacks, not 1.

Either way, we fought the law and the law didn't win. However, without a losing condition either, there's not much to be said about it either. Unless you state a clear goal over what you are trying to do, then how can there be a metric whether which side has more bragging rights?

Anyway, since clearly you have your own frustrations, I'll remind you you've been approached twice for a ceasefire. It could even be a temporary one until the mechanics in place are sorted out. You don't seem to want such a thing, so everyone will play with the available cards in their hands.

Ah that. Those are public, no much to call spying. [hehe]

Fun fact: Bounties and Combat Bonds are practically the same mechanic under a different guise. To the point where handing in combat bonds is actually registered in the "bounties cashed in" tally for the day of the system.

Interesting, this is something I didn’t know! I did know that only combat actions count during a war, but I did not know that they basically counted as one and the same.

Sincere thanks here Apos!

Interestingly with 3.0, EDF may very well finally get their own squadron megaship.

So will all of the other big factions (including our Alliance friends).

The only difference will be that in 3.0, more people will get them than just Cannon Research.

It’s not a bad thing, FDEV shouldn’t be picking ‘special children’ from amongst the PG’s. Cool rewards should be open to everyone.

Ok, so not belonging to a player owned faction myself, but am currently pledged to one of the game factions that provides access to goodies after four weeks, if I go into a player owned faction and spend a few hours slaying system authority ships, what are the impacts?

Is there only an impact if I am a memeber of a rival player owned faction?

Funny how that works and how these types pf things start asking for things to be changed to suit their own agenda.
Didn't take too long...just a faint whiff of it on the breeze and it has begun.
Is this the shape of things to come?

There's not such thing as being a member of when it comes to the BGS. Don't get yourself confused with the PP figures, they don't participate in the BGS directly.

If you go on a rampage on security, you will hurt the ruler's influence that employees that security. Depending on your ship and its capacity to sustain taking fire and kill fast, this can range from mildly annoying to beyond broken.

I have to say I dislike the transaction based methods on the BGS. It's all so tedious. There's really no reason FDev should remove influence from single item trading but retain it for single item exploration.

It's lame. I'm good at exploration. I know how to find earth likes, terraformables, etc. I made Elite on my trip back from Sag A. I wish that would count for something more than a honk and scoot, but nope. Same with CZs. It's *harder* to stay in a CZ for a long time and rack up millions upon millions in bounties. But nope, the most tedious thing to do is to kill a ship or two and turn it in, ad nauseam. Unfortunately that's also what you *should* do.

It's lame.

To AEDC, for me it's all in good fun. Once upon a time, long ago, I considered joining the Alliance. Then I found out about the turning a blind eye to slavery. I don't tolerate that. I let it be known (and it's not very popular!) that I will kill any commander in our fleet that is caught shipping slaves, so buyer beware on talking about it. Really the only thing that loses my respect for you guys was turning a good war between our two factions into a dogpile when you started losing a little (Just by a few percent. C'mon)

Well, if FD doesn't address the recent erratic behavior of system authority ships soon, I'll start shooting them on sight anyway. Any of them, any system, player factions be damned. It's getting so a brother can't earn an honest credit, when the authority ships do their best to make you wanted. [wacko]
