Titan Cocijo even is a complete dumpster fire

Apologies but i need to ask something (again). I joined in a group on multiplayer - one of the anti xeno private groups. I manged to shoot the pineapple at least twice with missiles. With a little help from my friends! The first time it said like an award of 1.9 million credits or something. The next time i received no messages. Twice i received 14000 credits or something. First time a lot of lag second time no lag. Very exciting i found the practice in solo invaluable since the Beast emits pulse waves more frequently (it would seem). My question is how do i know i now qualify for the reward? The engineered SCO?. I now only want to take my (specialty engineered CMR Mechan) clipper and get the Hardened Surface Fragments. You have been very helpful thanks once again.

If you damaged the core and received bonds, stand down, soldier, you're all done. Or you can go back for seconds. Either way, if you can see bonds reported for the CG (they will be a small percentage of actual earned) you are good.

Things went ok for me over the weekend, until this morning where I've had instances which awarded no credit, and which contained thargoid patrols in the caustic cloud.

Arriving with 30% hull, spending 10 minutes repairing, and then finding out the instance is bugged and having to fly back to Hutner to restock caustic sinks and try again is... a smidge aggravating.

Did you sign up at the community goal? (Means, do you have it in your left hand panel? ) When opening the CG mission, there is a "your contribution" field to the lower left. This is how much the game thinks you have contributed. If it is higher than zero, you qualify for the reward.

Unfortunately, according to my experience, the first part is not reliable. After my first two attacks on the titan, i both times brought home a bit over a million in bonds. But when checking the CG, i was credited for zero contribution. Even relogging, which forces the game to reload all data and then show you your actual contribution, still showed me a zero.

At later runs, i managed to get contribution. (See above, on the CG goal. ) Thus i would advise anybody to check the CG page (relog to force the data to be updated) and see if it is higher than zero.

What ship were you flying? If you have a slow speed it will be harder but doable. Take two caustic sink launchers, keep them both on same trigger group. They will discharge together but will fill up independently, so you have overlap from time you have to release them.

Cookie cutter Krait mk2, max engineering, boosting over 530m/s, dual caustic sinks.

I'm currently in the top 25% for this event, and it's been fine all weekend, but this morning I have had all sorts of problems because the titan simply isn't awarding credit after hitting the core, and there are interceptors hunting me in the caustic cloud meaning I arrive on low hull and have to take 5+ minutes to repair before I can even try to do anything.

It's not a good screenshot, but here's an example; I have barely entered the cloud, there's a few mines visible, and so is a patrol ship that will attack me if I go forwards 😔
It's like they've wandered away from Cocijo and got lost and are just hanging out here.

There's always a few lone interceptors patrolling the cloud and scanning mines, even during meltdown (someone should have told them it's time to leave). My most recent approach to Cocijo even had a (drunk?) Cyclops manage to set off one of the generators on itself and trigger its heart.

I guess I've just never run into them before. They are pestering me hard today 😅

Will try again a bit later, see if the instances reset and start rewarding bonds again too. Three tries so far and all of them were bugged.

I don't enjoy writing those posts, but this event was just so badly executed on all fronts, from gameplay to extreme server stability issues.

Stability (while in Sol or in the maelstrom)

1. Lots of disconnection errors and in some occasions when your ship blows up, the game will get stuck and won't go to the re-buy screen. Only option is to kill the game and relaunch.
2. Ridiculous amount of time to disengage from supercruise , especially into the titan or the rescue ship

Gameplay

1. so I don't know if Fdev are just naive or terrible at planning but clearly the event is popular and brough back many players, me included. However, they decided for whatever crazy reason that the rescue ship will have 1 pad of each size so when you try to dock, all you get is "docking access denied" FOR EVER. Of course, you can log out, log back in as solo, dock, do your business, log out. log back into open etc etc. HOW TERRIBLE of a game play is that!!!! if you knew or anticipated that many players, why couldn't you make the rescue ship MUCH bigger so people don't have to wait for eternity to dock.

here is a solution to #1 - make it like a tesla super charger. if there is a queue to dock, you get 5 mins. for every 10 seconds over, you get a 15 million credits fine. Trust me, nobody will ever AFK in open when a station is crowded.

2. the payout for participating is a complete and utter joke compared to the payout we got when we kicked out the goids from the surrounding star systems. Shooting a torpedo into a vent pays 10k LMAO and shooting the core pays about a million LMAO. yet, getting inside the maelstrom will likely destroy half your ship and drain most of your caustic sinks which means, you will not be able to return so it's almost a guarantee death. given how laughable the payout is, it doesn't even cover the rebuy cost.

3. Given #2, the CG is not worth really participating beyond just getting one hit on the core so you can qualify for the global reward. the 20 mill, 30 mil or 50 mil payout is a joke because the amount of money you will blow on rebuys will be x10 times the reward. So, given how irritating everything is , from terrible stability to laughable payouts, I just did this thing once and bailed out. There is zero incentive to participate. And to make matter worse, you can't even help defending the Mars high because all your guardian weapons will get destroyed as soon as u enter Sol, so yea, can't even do squat there to help.

4. endless interdictions. to travel 1LS, you are looking at about 5 mins IRL because every 1 mile you get interdicted. yea, I get it, do it once or twice, but literally you can't even move a mile before it happens again. This gameplay is designed to irritate not to bring enjoyment and fun, which is exactly what happens when things like that are done excessively.

I've had lots of fun defending and repelling the attacks from the surrounding systems, but the titan event in sol is beyond irritating. But I guess that's what happens when Fdev cares more about releasing new ships to the cash shop then fixing the game and the growing list bugs. Yea, even the "fixed" transaction error is not fixed. what a joke
I had lots of fun, there were some challenges, (after all, it was a battle not a paddle), so blew up once and paid a lot in repairs, but found that each run would have covered the cost of a rebuy + some if I had, so earned over 30 million in profite before the community payout anyway. I didn't experience any connection issues at all, and since I mostly play in solo or private groups, I never had an issue with landing pads. I thought my experience was good, but this post has made me realise it was flippin fantastic! :ROFLMAO::LOL::alien::ROFLMAO:

"I mostly play in solo so I didn't have any issues with landing pads" ... sigh... 🤯🤡

I play in PG too, so no inconsiderate players to contend with, and better instances...

Gonna call me a clown too?
no sir since you understood my point.

also, i don't think it is about inconsiderate players as much as bad game design.

1. they can implement a queue system.
2. give players priority over npcs so when a player is in a queue, the npc bails and free the pad
3. make the rescue ship have MORE pads
4. and last but not least, penalize players who camp a pad for too long. if the station is crowded, you get 5 mins to do your business. any 1 min over, you pay 10% fine of your total bank account balance

Mostly good ideas, but I think that players generate enough salt as it is, so I would replace the fine with just having the game kick the pad blocker to the main menu or into a Solo instance.

I think after a while on a pad while others keep requesting to dock and failing, the game should auto retract you into the station and then disconnect you from the current instance. From your perspective it would just be you getting pulled into the station, then when you leave, everyone else had already left, while for everyone else, you were pulled into the station and then your pad cleared.

Pineapple hits not registered but still think the Event was a great effort at meeting players where they are not only at their spreadsheets.

Sorry. Not my experience. I think it was a blast.

Though I think we are ultimately back to "other players in your instance can do things you won't like, use the instance control features if you don't want this to be a possibility" here.

Maybe more flexible instance control features would help - add a fourth "custom" option to the mode selection at log in
- mode to use in supercruise
- mode to use in space
- mode to use on planet surfaces
- mode to use near stations
and then people who don't like pad AFKers can just set the "stations" one to Solo and leave the rest as Open.
