Titan Cocijo even is a complete dumpster fire

Another thing that helps, skin dancing. See Babylon 5 for what that is. I forget the episode name.
Now, it isn't the case that the computer is afraid of hitting their own as is the reasoning in B5. It is because you have a giant barrier between you and most all of the guns.

Twice now got the message that the core is opening but was shot to pieces before i went to the other side.
If you get that message while being on the "upper" (vent) side, then it's possibly too late to get to the core in time. At least that's my experience in solo.
That's why I only shoot 2-3 vents and go straight down for the core that usually opens when I get in range. Fire rockets after rockets until it retracts, drop a heatsink and then thrust downwards to the asteroid field and so on...

I don't enjoy writing those posts, but this event was just so badly executed on all fronts, from gameplay to extreme server stability issues.
I suspect these issues are not universal...
Stability (while in Sol or in the maelstrom)

1. Lots of disconnection errors and in some occasions when your ship blows up, the game will get stuck and won't go to the re-buy screen. Only option is to kill the game and relaunch.
2. Ridiculous amount of time to disengage from supercruise , especially into the titan or the rescue ship
Not seen either of these even during some runs in EU peak time.
Gameplay

1. so I don't know if Fdev are just naive or terrible at planning but clearly the event is popular and brough back many players, me included. However, they decided for whatever crazy reason that the rescue ship will have 1 pad of each size so when you try to dock, all you get is "docking access denied" FOR EVER. Of course, you can log out, log back in as solo, dock, do your business, log out. log back into open etc etc. HOW TERRIBLE of a game play is that!!!! if you knew or anticipated that many players, why couldn't you make the rescue ship MUCH bigger so people don't have to wait for eternity to dock.
I'm OK, I play in PG to get away from the issues caused by other players, too bad it gets to you, such is life.
here is a solution to #1 - make it like a tesla super charger. if there is a queue to dock, you get 5 mins. for every 10 seconds over, you get a 15 million credits fine. Trust me, nobody will ever AFK in open when a station is crowded.
When many CMDRS have literally 10's of BILLIONS?
2. the payout for participating is a complete and utter joke compared to the payout we got when we kicked out the goids from the surrounding star systems. Shooting a torpedo into a vent pays 10k LMAO and shooting the core pays about a million LMAO. yet, getting inside the maelstrom will likely destroy half your ship and drain most of your caustic sinks which means, you will not be able to return so it's almost a guarantee death. given how laughable the payout is, it doesn't even cover the rebuy cost.
I've been in and out in a P2 with no engineering and just Guardian HRPs helping out. Sorry you are having issues to such an extent...
Payouts - perhaps if they are too low, do something else?
3. Given #2, the CG is not worth really participating beyond just getting one hit on the core so you can qualify for the global reward. the 20 mill, 30 mil or 50 mil payout is a joke because the amount of money you will blow on rebuys will be x10 times the reward. So, given how irritating everything is , from terrible stability to laughable payouts, I just did this thing once and bailed out. There is zero incentive to participate. And to make matter worse, you can't even help defending the Mars high because all your guardian weapons will get destroyed as soon as u enter Sol, so yea, can't even do squat there to help.
You do know there is further engineering available to immunise Guardian weapons?
4. endless interdictions. to travel 1LS, you are looking at about 5 mins IRL because every 1 mile you get interdicted. yea, I get it, do it once or twice, but literally you can't even move a mile before it happens again. This gameplay is designed to irritate not to bring enjoyment and fun, which is exactly what happens when things like that are done excessively.
Interdictions endless? Worst I've had so far is 3, although someone on the FU discord claimed 11...
I've had lots of fun defending and repelling the attacks from the surrounding systems, but the titan event in sol is beyond irritating. But I guess that's what happens when Fdev cares more about releasing new ships to the cash shop then fixing the game and the growing list bugs. Yea, even the "fixed" transaction error is not fixed. what a joke
The Titan event in sol may be beyond irritating for you, but isn't it strange that over 11,000 are contributing to the CG and the forum isn't full of complaints?

... probably not had such luck as OP, bcs I had exactly zero disconnections at Titans (Cocijo is no. 7 for me) and so far zero rebuys from all runs. Rewards therefore are pure profit, I would say that this activity is paid very sufficiently. ED as a game runs really stable for me, so it really look like local issue with connection and/or PC ... + lack of experience is not helping too. I use PG for bombing runs to avoid instancing issues (which really should be expected with such huge amount of cmdrs in one place)

Incorrect! It has TWO medium-sized landing pads!
More importantly: i used that ship exactly once. When i bought the new AX equipment. And yes, i had to wait for a bit there, although i could simply have switched to solo play and docked at any time. Anyways, since then i operate out of Ashby City, right around the corner. Also provides all i need, while having more than enough landing pads. :)

I struggle sometimes to find which side the vents are on i think one side has spikes and the other doesn't? Twice now got the message that the core is opening but was shot to pieces before i went to the other side. But progress in the sense i can use the thargoid pulse with ease and get to the Beast without much of a struggle. If i can just find the right side with the vents quickly then be cool while they open i stand a chance. And i find using the beam laser to cool down useful. Its just getting all the parts to act together! So much help and support here thank you.
The vents are on the side with the big bulge like a volcano or R.C. Cathedral in Liverpool, the side the core will immerge from is flatter with spikes, the spikes are nearer to the edge than the bulge on the vent side.

Has the OP enabled Port-Forwarding and ensured that it's working properly? I set up port forwarding in the early days, though it didn't really make any difference at the time, then each time I built a new PC, reinstalled the game or whatever. However, confident that I'd set it all up - which I of course had - I failed to notice that an update (I assume) had RESET the in-game Port-Forwarding settings. The stuff I'd set on the router etc. was all still there and good, though not used of course, but the game had been reset. Fixing this - aka, reapplying the settings - got rid of most of the weirdness for me, giving a much smoother and consistent game experience overall.

I still occasionally have issues, like when a friend was bringing along his Alt for the extra PiP - he was "multi-boxing" so he has another instance of the game running on another PC (Laptop) on his network. This didn't impact his experience, but was a detriment to mine. Things stabilised when he stopped doing that. Also, we'll sometimes get situations where another Commander shows up in the instance, and we start experiencing lag, hits not counting and other weirdness. Could be their connection, could be their PC, could be the Server not handling its part well, with an extra player there.

Also, recently, it's been speculated that some background sim update occurs every hour, as many of us were experiencing weirdness roughly every hour for a few minutes. Then things would recover and be fine again for a while. We had this several times. Everything great, then five minutes of broken, then back to just fine again. This was during our defence of various surface settlements against the Thargoids.

As going Solo makes so many issues go away, it must be down to Networking - be it server communication or peer to peer - or something like that.

yes, I have port forwarding and going solo solves all the disconnection issues but I don't play elite to play solo. I have plenty of single player RPGs for that.

but honestly, I may have exaggerated a bit :p on the disconnections part. I think it only happened once. I was more irritated about the gameplay itself but after reading all the responses and the tips by other CMDRs, I think I now have a better idea how to approach it.
However, I decided to ditch the thargoid war and try out a different game loop I haven't explored yet - exobiology. I am already > 1000LY from the bubble so I'll be doing some exploring for now. Looks like y'all can handle the titan without me haha

I am glad they are, and I wish FDev was more prepared, like for instance, make the rescue ship MUCH bigger so people don't have to wait forever to dock or switch to solo because that's a bad user experience. Like I said earlier, the titan event to me feels like this massive raid boss , where everyone joins together to form a raid group to take it down, but elite not being an mmo and Fdev not being prepared for the number of players participating soured the experience for me.

I've been in and out in a P2 with no engineering and just Guardian HRPs helping out. Sorry you are having issues to such an extent...

I am not really in for making tons of money tbqh (although I don't want to lose money on rebuys lol). I'll probably get bored again and move on to the next game (Monster hunter Wild maybe). I am mostly here for the enjoyment and like you said, if I did not enjoy the titan part (I did have a blast couple weeks ago when we had to clear out the star systems) I should try something else which I did - exobiology. :D so far... I think... I like it? idk

Regarding the rescue ship there is 1 large pad, 2 medium and 4 small.
When I was doing Spire Sabotage I found it useful to swap to small ship when I visited the rescue ships. No waiting no problems.

More like its skill issue, event is fine for many, Myself included.

Stability (while in Sol or in the maelstrom)

1. Lots of disconnection errors and in some occasions when your ship blows up, the game will get stuck and won't go to the re-buy screen. Only option is to kill the game and relaunch.
Sounds like connection issue or bad pc issue, maybe both. I dont have either great PC or connection, but I did not had any of that, maybe becasue I did not even died once at titan.

Its been like that since megaships where added. So its given like that since years. Yep, its quite annoying, but it is what it is. There is workaround, luckly and you know already about it.

Solo - it works way faster than waiting for randoms in open to leave up landin spot - by a large margin, if need to land.

"guarantee death", for you, probly it is, but not for others... Certainly not for me.

This CG isnt about credits.

Getting into maelstrom, bomb it to the point where ammo is out, then getting out of it, require only single engineerd caustic sink. On way back, if there is still caustic eating away hull then just "burn it" by rasing ship temp from 150-250% and use heat sink once caustic is gone... IF there is no caustic sinks left. Once caustic is gone, and on way out, nothing cant stop you from hi-waking to desired system, once outside of clouds.
3. Given #2, the CG is not worth really participating beyond just getting one hit on the core so you can qualify for the global reward. the 20 mill, 30 mil or 50 mil payout is a joke because the amount of money you will blow on rebuys will be x10 times the reward.

There is zero incentive to participate.
No, its quite opposite. SCO double-engieered FSD's and each in every size from 2 to 7, its one of best, if not best CG reward ever handled so far. Worth every rebui one might require to pay, just to get these. Why you might ask... because who knows when these will be available again if ever to grab, and it might take a while, possible years even.

And to make matter worse, you can't even help defending the Mars high because all your guardian weapons will get destroyed as soon as u enter Sol, so yea, can't even do squat there to help.
Guardian weapons needs be engieered with special effect that Ram Tah offers. This will make such immune to decay effect, or use human variants, these are good enough. Again, not really needed to bother with guardian tech at all, enchanced MC's or missiles are good enough, and it does not care any bit about decay effect.

4. endless interdictions. to travel 1LS, you are looking at about 5 mins IRL because every 1 mile you get interdicted. yea, I get it, do it once or twice, but literally you can't even move a mile before it happens again. I got only interdicted up to 2 times from entering sol to entering titan, and I used non-SCO ship. Earth isnt that far at all, about what, 500Ls? But in order to decrease chance to being interdicted a lot in supercruz, you need have idle heat bellow 20%, in case if you dont knew about it.

I've had lots of fun defending and repelling the attacks from the surrounding systems, but the titan event in sol is beyond irritating. But I guess that's what happens when Fdev cares more about releasing new ships to the cash shop then fixing the game and the growing list bugs. Good. I'd say, if its too laggy or cant handle it (skill issue confirmed), but already done an contribution, just leave it for others. In about 2 days from this post, titan will be already history, whenever you further partake or not... Few days later everyone will get those FSD's and other rewards, who got atleast 1 credit from damagin titan core, so if already done it, why bother if isnt "fun"?

I suggest you should train a bit more, how to stay alive in AX enviroment, thats it. For starters, I suggest getting low temp ship, Low emmision at G5, makes most ships about enough to stay under 20% heat, and thus not being aggroed by nearby thargoids or turrets.

Or spam heat sinks. Stock up on synthetis for it, and synth every time when left to last sink. You can stay for hours in low temp that way.

Try this bulid - Clipper - it did not failed Me ever since titans appeared, and been used soley this bulid within titans. It have size 7 repair, and its about 24% hull regen per limpet, and u can carry 16 of such. Idle heat at 17%, so if stop moving, and after poping heat sink, it should be "invisible" to nearby thargoids - perfect time to synth heat sinks and repair hull or others if really wanted to help others. And yes, it does boost over 600 m/s, so it gets into titan fast, well as fast its able to get out. AX mc's are more than enough to damage core, and simply have others cmdrs to expose core for you, wich is 100% guaranteed in open. As bonus, you can also handle easly scouts, hunters and up to cyclops with that loadout as well.

Have to ask, are you playing from SSD/ NVME storage, or HDD? Both of those issues suggest the loading animation is taking too long, and timing out; potentially caused by either very slow game storage or connectivity issues to the game servers.

The rest of your post I'll leave for others to comment on.

For the most part I've had a good experience! I am using a super cold dbx resting af 12% heat with a couple axmc and a heat transfering laser. So I just wait for others to open the core, swoop up and blast the core. Then dash away to avoid the blue energy field thingie. Unless I do something stupid, the thargoids never attack me and i get a million after each run at the core.

Only major annoyance is occasionally (twice) while flying my ship separates from my screen and flies off without me. Then I'm stuck and have to reset. Very annoying.

But while I've earned about 15 to 20 million in bonds, the CG status says my contribution is only 5 thousand and something. I'm at least up to the top 75% level. Anybody else see this?

Bonds earned are not 1:1 with bonds reported for the CG. It's expressed as a fractional percentage. What matters (for the CG) is the tier. What also matters is that you had a good time. I hope so. I had a lot of fun having mild panic attacks and generally being flustered whilst giving the vents a tickle and the core a cuddle.

Sounds like a bug, though Its first time I hear about such "camera detach bug", and certainly never experienced it myself. Donno how others.

Its like this, for all of us...

1,000,000 earned by core attack is about is shown as 1,000 in CG progress, it seems. CG require 2 billion total. Only reason for that is because CG would end up in just 2 days otherwise (if in not 1 day and bit), and many cmdrs would be out of chance to even take part of it. In other words, it would be over already, by time of this post.

It makes sense to decouple earned bonds to progress bonds, as this allows Frontier to adjust the ratio of earned to progress to allow as many to take part as wish as well as be able to time (to an extent) what happens next.
