Titan Rewards Update

I just did my first successful run on Leigong in solo. I got about 6.5k credits. To get 2 million I would have to repeat that roughly 307 times. Say each run takes 10 minutes overall, that's 3070 minutes or 51 hours, and all within the week it detonates. I realise I might get better at doing it, and that the rewards might increase as the titan weakens but on those calculations it doesn't seem doable in solo. Not for me anyway.

What ship/weapons/etc are you using? I was getting 300-500k per run in my Cutter this evening.

To be eligible for the incremental Titan rewards you will need to do the following:

1) Have done damage to the heat core of a Titan within one week prior to it going into meltdown.
2) You need to have earned a minimum of 2M credits from hitting the core (You earn less credits from the Titan when they still need weakening and have a high damage resistance)

So no, it seems you can't whip round and bank the achievement in advance. You're going to need to be involved at the right time.
He did indeed ... in reply to my question in fact.

I can only apologise ... perhaps I shouldn't have asked. 😬

There's your problem then. Replace those lasers with AX missiles. The Sirius ones are the best DPS, if you can get them from a Sirius megaship, or the engineered Enhanced ones from the rescue ships.

My Cutter has 2x class 2 Sirius AX missile racks, 2x class 3 Azimuth engineered enhanced AX MCs and 2x class 2 Azimuth enhanced MCs (plus the nanite torpedo, of course) and without being particularly good I'm able to get 3-4 heat vents then scoot over to the other side and hammer the core for a good few seconds. I'd say I can get 2 million in bonds in 4-5 attack runs.

It's only one beam laser which I'm also using for cooling. It would have to be the canons that would go.
If you're only wanting to hit the core, then missiles are better than MCs, but if you need to pop any turrets or Scouts then keep the MCs.

If I swap to my Krait (which has less hull so probably won't last as long), I've got it set up with the nanite torpedo and 2x class 3 engineered enhanced AX MCs on the top and 2x class 2 Sirius AX missiles on the bottom.

You need the experimental weapon stabiliser to mount that many AX weapons, but it's worth it.

I'm using heat sinks as needed for cooling, but I've not had much a problem with heat since I engineered both ships to run cold.

I was hitting the core with 3 x enhanced 3C ax multicanons and a 2D beam laser.
How many heat vents did you manage to hit? I decided to try a Solo practice run today using a Krait with 3 enhanced missile racks (and TV beam laser and nanite pylon), I was hitting at least 3 or 4 vents before they closed, then IIRC doing somewhere between 150000 to 250000 damage per run.

Good point - the more vents you hit, the longer the core stays exposed so the more damage you can do. Obviously in Solo it's pretty hard to get them all, compared to PG or open (if it's not bugged) where several players can work together to get all the vents.

In terms of DPS the enhanced missiles don't have much over 3C enhanced MCs on paper, but I was definitely making more when I switched the Krait to bomber mode, and it was intensely fun.

Bear in mind you won't be making much atm because the resistance is higher, I was making 2mil in a couple of runs during the final push on Taranis.

I got 3 vents (the 4th closed just before I fired). Not sure I could do much better than that, but will try again tomorrow.

I would play in open but had a couple of runs where it ws bugged and gave up on it. How do you find the Cutter for getting from the vent side of the titan to the core on the other side? I'd assumed I would be wasting a lot of precious time manoeuvring it.

Think I will try the missiles. When I was firing with the cannons I suspected that my first shots, the ones where I was still near the edge of the titan, may not have done so much damage due to the spread of the bullets. I don't really know if that's a factor in this, but it crossed my mind.

Seems the primary issue is it's a guessing game as to when the "last week" is going to be. Maybe do the same with the 24 hour death clock. When it "dies" put a one week clock on it, ring the dinner bell - "come get your cosmetics", then let it die in 24 hours. Then no-one can complain they didn't have time or didn't know (who am I kidding! :ROFLMAO:).

Alternatively, don't rely on cosmetics to engage player base. 🤷‍♂️ (Maybe up it to exclusive ship, bwahahaha....)

Greetings Commanders!

After a monumentally coordinated and dedicated offensive from Commanders all across the Milky Way, the Thargoid Titan Taranis was critically damaged to the point it could no longer maintain its systems, causing it to enter meltdown and beautifully explode into a blooming cloud of deadly caustic remains. So many pilots came together to undertake this colossal mission and no doubt the Thargoids of the other Titans are quaking in their chitinous booties. As you wait for the caustic cloud to dissipate so we can take a gander at what fresh juicy goodies lurk within, 7 Titans still remain a threat. Titan Leigong is humanity's probable next target, but it still needs a bit of weakening by reducing the number of systems it controls

Now that the fireworks have come to an end, we wanted to talk about that thing we know you are all excited to know more about...the rewards!

As the destruction of Taranis was such a major occasion and we know that some people couldn't contribute to the war effort as much as they would like due to some pesky (non-alien) bugs we are going to handle the rewards a little differently for this specific event. To celebrate the destruction of Taranis we will be giving the rewards to everyone who traveled to the system any time between the release of Update 18 through to the time until Taranis exploded. This way we can ensure that even if a pilot was affected by one of the issues which might have invalidated their contributions, they will receive the reward. These rewards of a ship kit and decal will be going live some time this Thursday.

This is a ONE OFF for the rewards though. In order to receive rewards from future Titan destruction you will need to have taken part by damaging the heat core. *

For every Titan you are involved in defeating, you will receive an incrementally more prestigious ship kit with matching paintjob for different ships, and will receive an incrementing decal.

The first ship kit that pilots will receive on Thursday is the Alliance Chieftain bleached bone:

And the first decal you will receive is:

They will be added to your accounts on Thursday so keep an eye on our news channels for updates!

Thank you again to everyone who got involved in showing the angry crustaceans of doom that humanity wasn't going to sit there and let them attack our worlds. We look forward to watching you squash the next one!

* Updated Clarification

Don't forget you also receive Arx from taking down hearts and gain more if you are a top contributor.
Sorry - still confused about 1 part of this. Is the 2M credits required to be earned in a single core exposure, or is it the aggregated value of damage caused to the core over the last week. in other words, must I receive a 2M credit bond in a single go to qualify or is it the total of bonds over the last week (like 20 x 100,000). Does the 'last week' include the meltdown period or the week leading up to meltdown?

It shouldn't be too hard to guess that the Titan is down to the last few days, watch the progress meter and estimate how fast each ring is being destroyed. It may speed up toward the end so take that into account. Taranis went pretty quickly but not so quickly you didn't see the end coming. A week long timer would be counterproductive - players would stop attacking because it means destruction is now inevitable. A 24 hrs 'meltdown in progress' like Taranis should be good enough to give commanders time to prepare for the official end - but by this time I am not sure further attacks would or should do anything to qualify for rewards. Maybe FDEV should give rewards for last minute capsule rescues during meltdown?

2m during the last week before meltdown.
2 mil doesnt have to be single run. bond dont even have to be redeemed.
1 week before entering meltdown. (during meltdown you cant [shouldnt be able to] damage the core)

Thanks. I missed the clarification from the OP regarding the 7 day window - it ends at the start of meltdown, not destruction.
