Titan War Adjustment

This is a great change! It really helps to go all-in.

Well two of them were populated so it would be nice to give them back to humanity. Plus some people might not want the remnants hanging around in case they start growing again.

Meanwhile if clearing Titans doesn't weaken the systems around them and clearing the systems around the Titan does nothing to make it weaker, then the point is what exactly?
If the 33% weekly reinforcements stop, then it won't matter the strength - it'll go down eventually just like old incursions.

Could you please boost progress influence by killing thargoid ships or doing spire sabotage missions? Because now most valuable influence in thargoid controlled systems is selling samples. So people from AXI selling samples which they are taking from poor scout which being probing again and again.

Having thought about it a bit now, I have a perhaps better idea than the Alert change—to be sure, the Alert change is sensible, just not the conclusion I would have reached! Returning to Frontier's actual intention:

As you continue the fight against the looming threat of the Thargoid Titans, we're making a few adjustments behind the scenes to ensure your progression isn't thwarted by any unnecessary barriers.

Actually there were two forms of unnecessary barrier, one of which still remains:
  • Titans now causing Alerts when they lose too many Control systems, to which Commanders responded by stopping at M. Leigong, and which this change addresses.
  • Titan resistance remaining throughout the weekly cycle despite clearing the Control systems, to which Commanders responded by moving to M. Oya, at least temporarily.
More so than stopping at M. Leigong, I presume the actual observation at Frontier was the movement over to M. Oya in the latter half of this week, which remains perfectly logical and reasonable on the part of Commanders regardless of the Alert change. Quite simply, only some Commanders are interested in Control systems, so that response follows naturally once the Alert and Invasion systems are clear and there is nothing else to do that week.

Instead, I present to Frontier that a change more aligned with intention would be to reduce the Titan damage resistance immediately upon Control systems being cleared; as an aside, this also would align well with the way Control systems now become safe immediately upon being cleared. By far, most of the reason for going elsewhere is just due to awaiting the next weekly cycle, and having immediate damage resistance reductions would remove that wait. A secondary benefit is the reduced demand for Carrier jumps going back and forth!

Of course, not every Commander actually wants to attack the Titan either, so some will redeploy regardless once its resistance is low enough—but at least that way, as many as possible will remain!

Beware imminent incoming claims of the game being nerfed.
When I first see the Twitter/X announcement and the post title I can't deny that the first thing that came to my mind was "Oh, and here comes the nerf" - but after reading the description, if this is the only thing that is updated, what surprises me is why this isn't implemented as a default feature when the fight with the titans was enabled.

it's only natural that if a "general" is defeated the troops don't have clear instructions about what to do anymore

Also, you're talking about a species that can traverse hyperspace like we do realspace/supercruise. The survivors of Titan Taranis may simply be going to their nearest Titan for their needs, then returning to their positions in the systems formerly owned by Taranis
So, by the logic that you put forward, why have 8 Titans come to conquer us? By that logic, it wouldn't even be necessary for the Titans to have come. If not from their home systems they would have invaded us.

And today we find out if Leigong with three controls meets Taranis as quickly as it ran out of luck, or if the next giant fidget spinner of destruction (thanks Paul... I totally didn't go search for this one) is going to last a little longer against those annoying humans trying to pretend they are important to the universal order, and not just a figment of an even bigger Thargoid's imagination.

Dont tell me I can't bring gausses to the titan's core.

I think for the sake of making it an enjoyable event for all I would hope that Frontier would work out something to ensure that the Titan at least survives Thursday, including the eight hours of Friday morning that consists the rest of Thursday for folks in the Americas.

How long does the fighters last inside the anti-guardian field, and i had a friend ask if he could get the 2m in a fighter? (he didn't have time for taranis)
Much obliged.
Just a few minutes, I didn't conducted detailed measurement. As for 2 million - it depends how do you coordinate SLF' launch with the core deployment. I've just managed to get max some 130k with single launch, but coordination between two above was lacking. I still think that more conventional ship loaded with AX wepons is more effective (certainly - less bothering  ) - I've just tried SLF to see if it is possible to actually use guardian weapons against the core. Answer is - yest it is.

Well, maybe they have something planned to prolong the Titan’s demise. Who knows. Right now just looks like they’ve started doing their thing of “Go bash this Titan” in-game via messaging.

When will the other shoe drop? Either with this or the next Titan. If there is going to be anything such, of course.
