Good, looks like you agree that your initial statement was nonsense then. Nothing beats rhetoric.Neither is its opposite then.

And yet the standard ganker's response is "fly a different ship", or "play in solo". Putting the blame entirely on the person being ganked, and shrugging their shoulders saying "That's just how it is."
It's a rubbish way of looking at things, and stops the introduction of anything that might actually fix it. Because it's a game, and it doesn't have to be like that.
Buuut I doooon't waaant toooo,No blame is to be placed on anyone because it's just a game and you have the exact same tools and equipment as everyone else. Learn to use them and you won't need to expect the hand of god to solve your problems. You can do it yourself.
That's pretty much the reaction from some PvP proponents when changes to Open that would improve the game for the less PvP inclined are suggested....Buuut I doooon't waaant toooo,
U must change, not meeee.

Group mode is severely gimped, and there is really no other way than kickban offenders from group to prevent unwanted PVP.I think what you are proposing does not make sense.
- Because it would distort the Elite game according to its history
- Because what you ask is already there !!! If you want to avoid PVP you have 2 possibilities to play, 1 with group mode, 2 with solo mode.
Well yes, say that one with deep pockets could order a hit job on ganker and so on....That's a symptom of another fundamentalproblemissue with ED.
When it comes down to it, pew-pew is the ultimate arbiter of authority in ED.
You can't "out-explore" an attacker, or "out-trade" them.
That's something FDev might do well to have a think about.
The analogy I normally use is that if Bill Gates got beaten up in a back-alley, he's not going to get even by fighting back.
If he did want to get even, though, there'd be a multitude of options open to him - both legal and not so legal - which'd probably be devastating to his attacker.
It'd be nice if there were similar options available in ED so that, for example, a ganker might be deterred from attacking a "defenceless" exploration ship for fear of finding that, the next time they dock, the authorities have been bribed and will seize the gankers ship and destroy it.
Permanently.
ED needs to have a lot more "wrinkles" in it, as well as having a more robust C&P system, to deter ganking to a reasonable extent.
Come now, they were kinda rare last years. Only recently they spring up as if there was a festering puswound that broke open again.21 pages and multiple previous threads (one every week at least) and you still don't get it.![]()
I blame no new ships to build (and discuss).Come now, they were kinda rare last years. Only recently they spring up as if there was a festering puswound that broke open again.
Especially no extra large ships....I blame no new ships to build (and discuss).

That doesn't change the fact that there are many people playing solo to avoid griefers. Making another open mode for them (but with PvE-only as suggested by Robert) would therefore objectively improve the game. Those who want encounters that allow PvP will still have what they want. Simply other people would also get what they'd prefer. This old chestnut. We get these threads popping up so regularly -"How can we get more solo players into open?" - and it always seems to be focused around the idea that solo players want to avoid PVP.
There are so many other reasons for playing solo. For one thing, if you're a console player you have to pay a subscription to your particular console network to play ED in open. Another reason is solo doesn't suffer from many network and performance problems that open does. Another is that some people (like me) just like playing solo games. I played the previous Elite games and they were all single-player, and that's how I like to play ED. Open (or private group) doesn't offer me anything extra that I want or need.

Because of reasonz, you know. Don't be a carebear, be a target. But prefarable not too good target, it is not fun...nowadays when I fly my pretty gankproof Cutter I get left in peace. Because it is not exactly fun experience for a ganker to interdict, face immediate submit, see that mastodont boosting towards and away and high jumping. Why should people change their light, harmless explorer build just to avoid being your content?![]()

We've kind of already been there. After Drew (Cmdr Salome ) was ganked rather a few cmdrs went after the ganker. Didn't seem to deter him.Well yes, say that one with deep pockets could order a hit job on ganker and so on....
