I read the OP and sat here thinking, who the hell is the OP hanging about with. If you were listeing to Celine Dion then yeah I might question your musical taste (Im not into your taste as is but its yours so enjoy it) but I wouldnt start saying just becuase you listen to a female singer or a band with a female lead that its wrong.

My god how much great music I would have missed if that was my mind set. Really people who think like that really are not worth knowing or at least not untill they grow up a bit.

Yeah, it's like only liking paintings with green and yellow colour and ridicule the ones painted in red and blue.

Why do so many guys hate on other guys for listening to female singers?

This has come to mind lately, as I have really gotten into symphonic/operatic/gothic metal, and these sub-genres are dominated by female vocalists.

Thing is I actually really like it. Some of the best tunes I've had the pleasure of listening to.

And not all female metal vocalists sing clean. You should hear the death growls of Alissa White Gluz of the band Arch Enemy.

Some of the highest quality death I've heard there.

I know literally no "guys" who "hate on other guys for listening to female singers".

Besides, the only kind of guys who I'd want to hang out with are the kind of guys who, if you criticized them for their taste in music, would respond by telling you to go yourself.

Ye really need to find new m8s before they do any more damage to what ye think passes fer normal. Ive been a fan of Dido since the beginning of her career and most especially when she worked with Faithless back in the 90s and more recently. If one my m8s laughed at me cos I liked a female artist, Id tell them to quit being a richard or Id hit them a slap and laughed at them...

And I live in one the most backward countries in the northern hemisphere so like I say...ye need new m8s ^

Many moons ago, I sold Dido some bathroom tiles.

I liked Catatonia and Garbage especially. I do find many female singing voices dull and very samey, but that's just personal preferences speaking.
