if you think about it did you really remember discovering 120 000 systems ?
lets me do the math. 120 000 system x 5 (min) each (+-) 8 Hrs a day ( 24x7) - (24/7/60/8) = you must be 80 years old

Just stop, I already informed you that the data on EDSM is generated from the player journals that are generated by the game itself as you play.
And you really are being rather foolish, here is in fact a direct quote from the front page of EDSM;

Sad to say it's probably not, it takes time and dedication to achieve anywhere near the top 1000, let alone the top 100. Of course it depends on how you scan, I have slowed down a bit since the FSS was introduced, you can no longer just jump in, honk, see there's nothing interesting and jump straight back out.
No look really seriously, you said EDSM claims 1% of the galaxy has been discovered, it doesn't, I quoted from the front page of EDSM where they say "0.014631% of the galaxy has been discovered on EDSM"
