Too Many Crash Site Hostiles For Low Ranked Mission

Sorry if i'm duplicating - Is anyone else experiencing this, or am i doing something wrong?

I deleted my save, as i wanted a fresh approach, and accepted my first mission. "We need you to collect the items from a nearby crash site" It has a low ranking, and tells me i need a Maverick suit. So off i go, to do some shopping. I bought a Maverick Suit, and picked up an SMG, for close encounters. This left me with around 25k Credits left. Feeling confident, i fly to the crash site. As soon as i get close, a ship flies over head and drops 4 enemies on me. I panic a little, but quickly compose myself. "I can probably deal 4 dude, right?", I slowly start whittling away at the first person i see. This takes me 2 mags at close range (since all i have is a kinetic SMG and a handgun)! One of the sponges finally drops, and i turn my attention to the other 3, who all start serenading me with a series of beeps from their grenades.. As this is happening, another 4 goons are dropped next to me! This time they all have shotguns and grenade launchers!? I'm already low on power from shield drain, and ammo is starting to dwindle. I decide to call it a lost cause, and cry myself back to my ship with my tail between my legs.

After some quick humility, I decide grab another similar mission, something about retrieving some items from another impact site. "Surely the same thing can't happen again, right?" HOW WRONG I WAS! Same thing happens again.. I'm completely ganked by a group of raiders, who is backed up by another 4 within seconds. Please keep in mind that all these enemies so far are all ranked at the lowest possible rank (one stripe thing).. I'm quickly dispatched, and begin to wonder if any of those missions were worth the 100k they offered! Is it me? Am i not doing something i should be? I feel the combat really needs some kind of tuning in some way, as for such a low ranked, easy mission. Throwing 8 enemies at you, all of them constantly throwing enough grenades, energy, and lead to give Frankenstein an errection, who then proceed to shred your shields and HP quicker than you can even turn around, seems extremely OTT in my books.

Please educate me, if i am missing something really simple!

Yeah. The rank 1 enemies aren't that tough individually but 4-8 at once is really not straightforward if you're starting out and (like me) don't really play FPS much.

In the Alpha they were very vulnerable to either a dumbfire rocket or two from your ship - or just plain ramming them! - or using the SRV's greater range, speed and firepower to pick them off.

(The SRV is tougher than you but still won't last long with eight of them shooting at it close up - hit and run!)

Laser or plasma might be a better bet than kinetic for taking them out if you want to try doing it entirely on foot.

Don't use kenetic weapons on shields.
They drop like flies if you use a laser weapon to deal with their shields.

I'd love to use better weaponry, but when i have only 25k credits left, i might struggle. And by the time i've got the money to buy better weaponry, i doubt i'll be picking up these low paying missions. My point was that for beginner missions, they're severely over tuned. A suggestion would be that they don't include the second group of enemies, or make it so the low ranked ones are not complete kinetic sponges (as this is a beginner setup). It's not very rewarding for all the time and effort required, for such a low sum 100k credit reward.

Unfortunately the game hard crashes when you deploy your SRV near ground missions now.

I did a irregular level 1 POI, the amount of NPC that swarm you is a bit much. It was more challenging than a level 4 scavenger hunt at a settlement.
