Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Working on it, I think I have the answer, just doing a new clean install, I'll update here shortly.

I don't think it's related but when doing a transfer, TCE is taking the location of of EliteOCR and Relay as the location of the transfer source, and not the location of the new install location. Therefore I have to change this myself. I still get an error message on first run.:

What is 'F:' as the install is 'E:'?

Some more info, On first run there is no information for the 5 items relating to ship detail 'No Data'
I have to use task manager to shutdown the app.

On second run, there is still no name, but the 5 items decribing the ship is now present, and I have no error and it completes the launch.
On third run, still no name, same details present, and launch completes.

Somthing to note: if your using eliteOCR, and it's held within the source of the transfer, why not transfer that too to the new TCE installation, I do that anyway when I've installed before I run the new install.
Just a thought. E:\TCE v1.5.8.2\eliteOCR\ to E:\TCE\eliteOCR\ you know where the source is as you select that root directory.

Understood,

the F-drive referrence is showing the file on my working drive for TCE, where the error was caused. It has nothing to do with your installation.

Indeed, the TCE.config file is copied in the transfer process, so the file paths are identical to to the last installation of TCE.
That causes normally no trouble, because EDMC and EliteOCR have a default path at the programs (x86) folder, so they won't change.

The 'No Data' info is only visible, if EDMC didn't produce an output about your ship or EDMC isn't installed.
So why you had to use the task manager in your first run, was TCE frozen?

The name of a ship is read from the actual journal file and didn't come from EDMC.

On first run TCE stopped @ 90% with the error, and didn't allow the program to continue, regardless of pressing, I think, continue.
All I can say is the error didn't re-occurr after 1st instance. So it would suggest that the program/database has changed something that was causing the error, that it is now happy with.
If you want I can zip up all the files after install, run it, let it fail and then zip it up again and send them both to you.

I run TCE and EDMC (both at the same time) as I want to be able to send faction information etc to EDDN when I jump into a system. Is there an option that could be added so that TCE sends faction information when you jump into a system using EDMC?

TCE itself didn't send anything anywhere, it only orders EDMC to send the data to EDDN. I can't say it for sure, if the faction data is included in the upload, so maybe asking the dev of EDMC at his thread should clear things up.

Good morning.

Somewhat new to E:D, and am looking at tools to make my trading time a little less pen&paper.

TCE2 looks like a pretty interesting tool, however Windows Defender is blocking its installation. Is this a known problem? Does this program install something out-of-the-norm for other applications?

Besides it interacting with the E:D client, are there any other security concerns of which I should be aware?

There are no known security concerns with TCE, and I'm surprised Defender comes up with anything as mine in Win10 doesn't, but as your's does then add it to the white list and install as normal. This does happen quite a lot though with 3rd Party game tools as they are very specific and made by enthusiast and as such are not commonly known about by Virus tools, so can get flagged as suspicious.

Same issue as the Neutron Star issue, this time it's when you change the sort criteria to SCOPABLE and have a star system name in the STAR SYSTEM column.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Has anyone successfully got TCE to work in VR via something like OVRDrop? I believe it will work well inside Bigscreen, as a kind of "holodeck of screens" while inside ED; however, this seems to only work for Rift users. Vive users like myself, would need to use OVRDrop; however, when I view the windows available to OVRDrop, TCE lists a number of windows for each closed panel. Thus would need a single window with all TCE panels included. Perhaps it could work on a "monitor" where all TCE is on one monitor, though on my triple head setup, I have TCE across two of the three panels. Overall, wondering if anyone has played with a VR solution to include TCE in the ED VR space?

Hi All, Any guidelines on NOT running TCE MkII during the Beta phase? ;) I ask this, incase anyone forgot to stop using it.

I would recommend to install a second installation of TCE to use it at the Beta. Your non-beta database should not be contaminated with beta data. Also EDMC won't work in beta.

Please create a bug report out of the launcher and send me the ErrorReportFiles.7z.
Thanks.

Tried to create another error report, got an error message cause the same file already exists.
Uploaded screen shot to the same place as the others, and a text file containing the error.

Thanks for your help, both issues will be fixed with the next update.

I've just docked at an Asteroid Station at NGC 6188 SECTOR LC-V C2-28 and when adding the station the Security Level wasn't auto updated, I've checked the log and the details are there, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Files emailed.

The pictures and routes should be selected automatically before hitting the Start Transfer button, if TCE found them in your outdated TCE folder. The number of routes, backups and pictures are shown in the entries row.
But you can copy them also by hand.

I had a mission to salvage 4 items. I recovered 8 of said items. When I handed in the mission it took all 8 of them (instead of the 4 it required). This is an FDev bug but TCE still thinks the mission is running.

How do I delete it.
