Ummmmm. Can I add my vote here too. Thanks Eventure.

But the reason I stopped by was a question just out of curiosity. I was travelling through the Ancanec system, which I had never done before, and the station summary had Watts Horizon highlighted in yellow and I as had never visited there before I sort of assumed that it may have been home to some rares so I dropped in and there are no rares here. I guess my question is why are some unvisited stations highlighted in yellow in the summary panel?

You are correct in thinking that Stations are shown in yellow when they have Rares.

There are some stations that sell Rares which can change with factions changes, so the new faction deems said Rare as illegal, so you can't buy it from there. And therefore it's not available in the Commodities Board.

There are a few in the bubble, mainly because of various human factions and their activities.

However after checking that system Ancanec and that Stations it doesn't have a Rare available. So it shouldn't have been in yellow, so send Eventure your Bug Report Files.

Thanks Will do.

Did we find out why this happened? Eventure?

clean install new pc install tce and ed run tce as admin I get the initial screen saying no commander that's all it just stays on that ???, can anyone shed some light, please ?

Frozen

Hello-

Mine stopped working a short while ago. It gets to the login, shows my pilot name, says 'loading'.... and that is all. CPU is spiked with the trade computer task, it never moves on.

I have tried removing the installation folder and reinstalling a fresh download. Nope. I've purged the ED journal log files. Nope. I've verified that EDMC is working properly. Still nope.

I greatly enjoy having the Trade Computer and miss it. Any Ideas how to proceed short of wiping my hard drive?

Thanks!

Hmmm, did you installed the x64 runtime, posted under Prerequisites at the OP?
Did you tried to give admin rights at the short-cut of TCE?
Did you have given EDMC.exe (the commandline executable) and TCE rights at your firewall?
Did you tried to deactivate your AV?

I'm seeing some weirdness with the classic summary panel since the last update, I think.

1. I can only scroll with the mouse wheel. Clicking the arrows or holding the bar and moving the mouse don't scroll the list of stations/bodies.

2. Some stations pictures are blank. I noticed this with ocellus and an extraction outpost. I tried going to options/panel/sort by and changing it from visited to distance, then jumping out/into the system, but the same stations had nothing for their picture. I won't swear those are the only two effected though.

  1. Which Summary Panel specifically?
    1. I've opened most panels and scrolling works with the Mouse Wheel, and clicking arrows and moving the bar.
  2. Blank Station Pictures usually occurs when TCE hasn't saved the Station Type and it's set as UNKNOWN. This in my experience tends to happen for Surface Ports and registering new Stations that are not in the UMarkets.db, which are none registered stations.
    1. To check this open the DATABASE panel and enter the name of an affected station to MODIFY and check if the station type is set.

    3. If it is set then that's a different issue causing the problem

Ok, I did try my best to search this thread using varied combinations of words; but, no joy. My question is, can you run TCE on another box on your network? I'd like to run it on my Surface, which sits next to my main display. On the Surface I run a browser with INARA, my Mobius Group page, EDDB and ESDM. I also play in VR with a WMR Headset. I did try to setup TCE on the Surface but it doesn't like finding a path to the Log and Journal Folders. I've even tried changing them in the TCE.config file, it just rewrites the path to "C:\users\........."

If anyone has run this on another box, shed some light please.

Thanks,
Bill aka CMDR Jameson Bolmara

TCE queries, if the path exists on start up, if not available then TCE resets the entry to the default path. The netlog path depending on the game path, but I can add an additional entry for the netlog path to the TCE.config, so it will be manually changable.

That, my friend, would be AWESOME!

Suggestion for the waypoints panel / bookmarks tab...

Remove the "favorite" column and replace it with a "system" column.

Reason: I use the bookmarks to quickly select a particular station in my operating area as my trade destination, so I can then click on 'trade' and see what I can buy here and sell at the selected destination. It would be helpful to see the system listed as it's easier to remember/know what system I want to trade into, than the numerous stations within the particular station. It also feels like if it is a bookmark, then it is already somewhat of a favorite, so having a column for favorite is redundant.

Of course, if others think this is a bad idea, that's ok. I'm just suggesting it for how I use that tab in the waypoints panel.

I don't use it at all, so making changes to it are fine by me.

Thanks!

And the rework of the waypoint panel is great!

It looks like this change:

- Added new Ocellus station type to the database, called 'OCELLUS STARPORT B'.

Now causes this issue:

UNABLE TO CHANGE MARKET TYPE ISSUE

When attempting to change the MARKET TYPE of a Station you get the error below and are then unable to make the change.
See UNABLE_TO_CHANGE_TRADE_MARKT_TYPE_ISSUE.txt for error details
