sorry for the long reply.

I've let it detect both normal and horizons elite and it still says waiting for elite dangerous, you can find my error report file and a couple of screen shots of elite and TCE in the google drive folder ive linked below

Thanks, the issue is in your AppConfig.xml (at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64):

Remove the line: VerboseLogging = "1"

Check also, if you have the AppConfogLocal.xml in the same folder, if not use the file I have added to the FAQ's (When I start TCE it only shows 'Waiting for Elite Dangerous. Please enter the game or restart.' Where is the problem?).

Hi everyone,

I just installed TCE downloaded from the Dropbox-link in this Thread, but can't start it.
When I double click the desktop icon, the loading circle appears and disappears, but nothing happens.

I tried starting it as an admin, but same result.

TCE is installed in C:\TCE
on Windows 10 pro 64bit

I read something about the default resolution of TCE is 1920 x 1200. I am running two 24" screens on my NVIDIA GeForce 1060 GTX 6GB. Each have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (which is max). Could that be the problem?

Any other ideas?

Hi and welcome,

the issue has to do with your security suite on your system, make an exception for TCE or select 'Run as admin' for the shortcut. Otherwise install TCE onto a different drive.
This normally fixes the access problem.

Please tell me if you need any more information about my system. I am little bit stumped here.

EDIT 11.02.19:
I think it is a Windows 10 problem and not a TCE problem.
I booted Windows in safe mode and tried to start TCE and the following message poped up:
"Exception Processing Message 0xc0000005 Parameters 0x7ffd0fb71ce8 0x7ffd0fb71ce8 0x7ffd0fb71ce8 0x7ffd0fb71ce8"

I do have another program, which doesn't start and I tried that one as well and the same error message came up. So it must be a windows issue.

Hey again Eventure,

I fixed the problem after uninstalling the Windows Updates KB4481031 and KB4480056, which both update .NET Framework 3.5 to 4.7.2. So I guess, TCE is not compatible with Framework 4.7.2.

Good to hear, you have found the issue. TCE is build onto the Framework 4.0, so I linked the x64 installer under Prerequisites. Maybe you try to install it and reinstall the windows updates again.

Hi Eventure,
I think I maybe having the same framework issue as I recently updated TCE today from 1.7.4.7 to 1.7.5 and I'm getting an unhandled exception error when trying to transfer the database. I did try running 1.7.4.7 and that works fine.

I just started using this addon the other day and I love it. best immersion so far, I like that I don't have to drop the game window at all any more to find things. However when I scan planets it always tells me my keybind for dropping the Hud and I was wondering how I would disable that. I don't typically do the screenshots and would rather not hear that every second while I scan 20+ planets in a system.

No problem, enter the Options panel, select Event Reporter and uncheck the Scan event.
