Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Here`s a pic of the command.
Don`t mind the version number on the left. I have updated to the latest version. :)

It might help to run it in a CMD.EXE (Command Prompt). That way any and all output can be seen.

  1. Start > cmd.exe
  2. Code:
    cd "c:\Program Files (x86)\EDMarketConnector"
  3. Code:
    EDMC.exe --loglevel DEBUG -m %TEMP%\test.csv
Note the placement of the output file in %TEMP%, as you shouldn't be able to write to the installation directory.

Then you can mouse-highlight any/all output, hit 'return' to copy it, and paste that into this thread inside CODE tags.

So, EDMC.exe is working. The 'error 5' is because the last time you ran the game you didn't go beyond the main menu. EDMC/EDMarketConnector needs you to login so it gets the Journal event that tells it your commander name so as to ensure the correct CAPI data is retrieved.

Note the datestamp of that latest Journal. If you've played since then, then are you using the EDMarketConnector 5.3.4-beta1 ? Because without it EDMC.exe (but not EDMarketConnector.exe, which will work with 5.3.3) won't be picking up the latest Odyssey Update 11 Journal file.

I'll be making a full 5.3.4 release as soon as Eventure states they don't need any more changes for EDMC.exe purposes.

Thank you.
So you recommend to go back to 5.3.3. until the next release.
Thank you for your work. (y)
No, if you're using TCE it needs EDMC.exe to be working, which means you need the 5.3.4-beta1 (the full release is likely to be no different from it) if you're playing Odyssey. Blame Frontier for changing the naming of the Journal files (but the Update 11 Horizons client still uses the old naming).

Version [1.8.9.4] released
Changelog:
  • Added support of new exit codes from EDMC.
  • Fixed an issue with EDDB-Relay which could break the update process in certain cases.
  • Fixed an issue with the Event Reporter that could stop working if EDDB-Relay was set to auto-update on startup.
Notes:
Either download the version above, install and transfer your old database, or use the auto-update function of the launcher.
Click the 'new version' notice at the bottom of the launcher.

If you find an error, please report and use the Report a Bug button at the launcher and don't forget to copy the error details and ErrorReportFile.7z archive.

The file appeared to be broken. You can always fall back on your backup in such cases, if you had activated it.

i have the problem. the TCE_MK_II show always, that i am in cubeo. and thats not right. i am on other places. but it stays on cubeo. it will not change to the real place. always the massege wrang market place. i do not know how to change it. i uninstalled the MCE completly and reinstall and it is always the same.

Seems to be a configuration problem. When using Odyssey, select the Odyssey game folder instead of the Horizons game folder.
So picking the proper game path or redoing an Auto-Detection should fix your issue.
Otherwise, send me a Bug Report and attach the required ErrorReportFiles archive to the report.

ok , auto detection will not help, i done it 2 times with it
or has it todo with steam. first i start the launcher via steam. then i choose , Horizon or Odyssey, thats the matter ???

game version : ED Odyssey (64bit)

tce has as center of all: cubeo is the center of universe and market
i cant remove cubeo .

Is TCE totally reliant on EDMC.exe for "current status" information? If so then the user would need to be on the latest EDMC else the recent "Odyssey has differently named journal files" issue might be in play.

No, EDMC supports TCE to get the market data (its original purpose) without having to click through every station menu today in the game (commodities, prices, shipyard and equipment) and also get the player information and the data of the ship used. TCE analyzes the journal and all other local data provided by the game itself.

TCE was released shortly after the Elite Dangerous beta in 2014, when all the data provided today did not yet exist.
