Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Hello and welcome back!

Thanks for your report, fixed the error with the update above. You are now able to change the required path for the ED config files, so they can be accessed over the network.

Wow, man, that is perfect! I am really looking forward to start up ED again with the excellent TCE by my side. Donation incomming :)

Version [1.7.9.6] released
Changelog:
  • Added the starter mission to mission types, so TCE can detect it properly.
  • Fixed an issue with the Mission Database verify and repair function at the Launcher.

Notes:
Either download the version above, install and transfer your old database, or use the auto-update function of the launcher.
Click the 'new version' notice at the bottom of the launcher.

If you find an error, please report and use the Report a Bug button at the launcher and don't forget to copy the error details and ErrorReportFile.7z archive.

I like to remind any user, who wants to use TCE in french, spanish or russian to help in translating the
latest interface phrases, common commodities and rare commodities at OneSky. Thanks in advance.

Hi Eventure,
I have missions but they are not showing up on the mission window.
Thanks
Scotty113

Hi Scotty,

send me a bug report and specify, what missions not showing up and attach the journal logs, when you have accepted them.
I will do my best to find the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for late reply, I wasn't in the game for a while. Im not sure how to find the journal logs. I'll post the details and then an error report.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Thanks for the report.

You can fix the error by using the verify and repair option of the Mission database at the Launcher. TCE will remove the invalid entries from the database.
This error happened to currently active missions, which were accepted in game before the last update of TCE.

I have a question. One feature of TCE is to see "Available outfitting of a trade station". So for example, if I want to buy a particular module, for example a class 3 turreted multi-cannon, I can check which nearby stations might have that module for sale.

TCE also states that "The database of TCE Mk.II is completely local". So in my example, I can only see which stations have the module for sale, if I have already visited the station.

EDDB allows me to search for the multi-cannon module in all stations, not just ones I have visited.

My question is, how do I get the functionality of EDDB, to search in all stations, with TCE, which is only a local database?

There is a search function which will search an area in ly around the station or system you're in. when first loading the client you can build a database that has 30+ ly worth of station data and add to it by flying to stations you want to include in your personal database. It isn't expressly necessary though, as the search within the program will give you that information as well. It connects directly to EDDB and you can update it in game to give you current prices

I don't understand.
you can search for a specific module or commodity within the program while in game, it will give you results based on a range you set in the program and depending on the size of your database. you can create a pretty large database by building it in the client itself on set up, you specify the radius you want to create and let it scan, it will populate a database from EDDB and store it on your system. After that every station you interact with will build on that initial database. It can become quite large.

I don't know how to explain it better. I have never had a problem locating a module or commodity using this program. If you have the program there is a wiki which details a lot of information which you might take a look at.

I don't want to use the local database, I want to be able to search every available station, the same as EDDB.

I have been playing the game for 400 hours and have visited thousands of star systems, I don't want to build my own database, I just want to have the entire galaxy to search, just like EDDB

well then, when you start the client tell it to search and buiild a very large initial radius. you will need to update it like once a week to keep the prices updated. or just use EDDB. This program is directly linked to EDDB everything you see will be directly from EDDB. It can take a while to download a large area. I like to use 300 ly radius myself for my initial set up. There are 19,000 systems in the bubble. depends on how large your harddrive is and how much you're willing to do to get it there. You could conceivably have the entire database of EDDB on your system localy if you have the space and the willingness to keep it updated through the tools in the program.

Bug report: TCE doesn't correctly identify the right UI size when switching from multi-monitor back to single monitor

Steps to replicate:

1) Have multiple monitors
2) Switch to multi-monitor setup
3) Switch off multi-monitor setup
4) UI is now incorrectly sized

Notes: I am running an ultrawide monitor as my primary (2560x1080), and my secondary monitors are aligned vertically (1080x1920), so this may have caused some issues

Bug report: TCE doesn't assign the correct height to the UI. My monitor is 2560x1080. The Navigation tab, for example, displays in a box bigger than the height of my screen, so I can't close the box nor see all the data.

I've been wrestling with this program for several hours now. It's way too difficult to use without proper documentation. All the 'guides' are either non-existent or are based on older versions that bear little resemblance to the current one. And it seems to be lacking certain features that would make it better. For example, why is there no option to have the program wholly nestled on a secondary monitor? Why is there no option to have the mouse cursor always visible when attempting to click on the Interface?

Thanks for your report.
It would be helpful to send a report and the required TCE file to me by the Report A Bug button.

The guides are out of date man.

Checkout the wiki instead, which is generally up to date.

Will checkout the issue.

Trade route finder finds nothing even though I added a database from EDDB?

Because your Data Age filter is set to actual, I guess. Change it to 1-4 days and you will find plenty of routes.

1. Open the Options panel and select the Panel Configuration tab.
2. Activate the Allow Free Panel Placement option.
3. Select the panel name under Panel Positions and increase the Y-value to see the CONTROL button at the panel.
4. Click the CONTROL button and redurce the Panel Size value to a proper value and the Font Size to be suitable.
5. Save the setting aftwards.

This should work until I fix the issue by a patch.

why is there no option to have the program wholly nestled on a secondary monitor?

There is an option, if you didn't use any surround mode at the GFX-driver for you monitors. Select the monitor number, you want to use for TCE at the System tab of the Option panel.

Why is there no option to have the mouse cursor always visible when attempting to click on the Interface?

That can't work because TCE is an overlay, so you have to switch the focus between both applications.
There is a keybind to send the focus to TCE, so your mouse pointer become visible by pressing the selected key.

Hope that help's unitl a fix is out.
