Transfer Poll Results

They failed to validate their accounts, which I think means installation and receiving activation email I think? So essentially they never played a game.

I'm quite shocked that two thousand people who have never played this game cared enough to vote on ship transfer.

* WE ARE THE SILENT INSTANT PHUNPHUNPHUN MAJORITY , YOU ARE A BUNCH OF FORUMS NERDS WHO WANT TO KILL THE GAME WITH BOREDOM AND DELAYS !!!! *

Yeah ... Except, nope : this is a *sim* game, not candy crush.

And the majority doesn't want cookie cutter easy peasy achievements. Guess what : the majority wants a *space sim*. Unbelievable, I know.

Thank you so much FD for this poll ! Now, try to remember the results. :D

Fairly surprised that it was so convincing. My hunch was Reddit posters were more in favour of instant and might balance the poll out a bit more.

Hmm, almost 40.000 votes. And it seems that statistical distribution of both previous forum only poll and the forum exit poll really copy the result to high degree of precision.

It means that the forum itself is really more or less a mirror of the whole player community. This fact is a bit surprise for me, I always supposed that there is certain "bias" of dedicated forum users against the overall average of playerbase.

I don't think it means this. It just means that the people who were interested and motivated enough to vote on the poll are the same people interested and motivated enough to be on the forums. There's no way to prove that this relates to the entire player base.

In any case, FD has done the best they could with this issue, it's decided now, and behind us at last. For that, at least, we can all be grateful :)

It's a pretty strong number for players caring enough about a feature to take the time and participate in a vote that's open for only a week, though.

For only a week, I suppose so. If this hadn't been my work week (only time I'm on the forum), I would have never known there was a poll until it was done and over with. If it was on the Game Launcher though...

Glad to see that the 'vocal minority' so many people have been moaning about is actually nothing of the sort.

Both main forum polls showed exactly the same result as the official poll. Now we have some clear proof to point at whenever anyone says these forums are not a true indicator of overall player feelings.

You could sign up an FD Store account, and vote in the poll without having owned the game. Unless they have bought it, or linked their Steam/Xbox account to the FD Store account, it wouldn't count.

Okay, first, three cheers for keeping the common sense and logic in game. [up]

And second, I'd like to say how awesome Frontier has been once more in listening to the community. You guys rock!

Also for people saying 40k people isn't that much, I do agree that if there was a way to transmit the information to the hundreds of thousands of people playing the game without participating in the community (forums, reddit, etc.) there could have been more people participating, but I think 40k is good enough sample to get the necessary statistical precision. It's almost 10% of daily active players.

I would be interested to see which way the invalidated email votes voted then. Making false accounts to try and swing the poll?
