Transfer Poll Results

Hello Commanders!

We're still pushing ahead to try and get ship transfer in for 2.2, we just don't want to guarantee it, just in case.

At a guess (i.e. not to taken as the ultimate fact) if it doesn't hit 2.2 beta, it would hopefully drop in before 2.3.

Thank you very much and please, do take your time. Quality above all! :)

And a big "thank you" to the ENTIRE community for participating in this. Great day to be an Elite pilot, imho! :)

FD: You'll get a long wanted feature! Ship transfer!
Community: YAY!!!

FD: It will be instant!
Community-Con: Boooo. That's not logical! We want delay! Here we made a poll!
Community-Pro: YAY!!! New feature! Let's implement it and test it, maybe adjust it later!

FD: No delay, it will undermine the whole idea!
Community-Pro: YAY!!! New feature! Let's implement it and test it, maybe adjust it later!
Community-Con: Boooo. That's not logical! We want delay! (*shanting*)
Community-Con: Hellooooo FD? We want delay! Look at our poll!

FD: Well, forget everything we said, we created a poll as well. Vote!
Community-Pro: Oh no! This isn't going to end well.
Community-Con: YAY! We can win this!

FD: Result: Transfer with delay. Oh and while we are talking about 'delay'...funny thing the 'delay' will be delayed!
Community-Con: YAY! We won!
Community-Con: Wait! What exactly means delayed? When will we get it?
FD: Soon!
Community-Pro: Well done guys! Instead of having a new feature that could have been adjusted, we get nothing! Well...at least not now...but soon...yay.

Got to say, I'm a little disappointed. I definitely wanted instant transfer, due to personal time constraints. However, if 70% of the player base wants delayed transfers, then that's perfectly fine by me.

I'm incredibly grateful that Frontier allowed our voices to be heard and that we had a "say-so" in a game-changing feature.
Thanks again, Frontier!

How many people saw the original post on the forums where the results favored instant transfers - and decided to "grief" the system and vote no this time around.... Another Brexla situation. If the original vote isn't to your liking you Brits demand a second vote so that the griefers can get their way.
Not sure 'Brexit' will be quite as easy to turn around as 'Instant', but I suppose there are some vague parallels...

My immersion is going to be completely ruined if I can't interdict these ship haulers and blow them up and destroy someone else's ship.

I know, but as 3x the amount of players voted on this issue as Steam charts suggest play the game, can can naturally assume that a) There is a large enough sample size and b) Steam charts mean nothing.

C) FDev padded the numbers with phantom votes to get the result they wanted?

The what now? You mean this poll?

The one that also has a rough 70-30 split...

Will you be holding a similar poll going forward to get an indication of acceptable transfer times?
100m across the bubble is a bit slow considering the speed we can fly them across ourselves.

Interesting. I wonder how many players Elite: Dangerous truly has. 39K isn't exactly a strong number.
Psssh. You give 39K some weights to lift, teach it Judo, Boxing, Jeet Kune Do, Krav Maga, Kendo. Make it run a marathon, feed it on a diet of healthy food, maybe expose it to a radioactive spider bite or two and it'll become the strongest number you ever did see

:D

Now the ships transfer go to be useless....

I prefer to go get my ship myself.
I lose less time.

This is very stupid, see if I'm staying at the sky as the ship is coming, please really is brainless people.

Everything is a waste of time, really do not understand the carebears.

Wait 100 minutes, 1hr and 40 minutes to move a ship. The truth is that the lack of brain is amazing.

I would say that half the time it would take the best FSDs to do the trip, would be more than enough.

When you work out, that today, we would have to go to the station and then return, plus all of the ship transferring and maybe a bit of stripping to gain jump distance etc.. Having the whole thing happen in less than a quarter of the time, would be a result. However: Cost, has to be another factor, maybe there could be a speed over cost scale involved?

Good news is that it will cost less with the delay being a cheapskate myself :p.
