Why don’t you just watch something while doing the repetitive jump-honk-scoop loop? It’s not the game’s job to entertain you.
Actually... it is. A game is an entertainment product, thus its purpose is entertainment.
It is already a bit of a sad state that other/additional entertainment is suggested to complement the game.
Admit it, you just want fast travel. Fast travel is the Devil because space is big.
Fast travel so some places one has visited before? Why not!
Do the trip once, after that you could book a ticket for someone to fly you there.
We are doing missions for NPCs. Why not get the NPCs to do something for us?
You are in VR and have even more immersion than those without. How come you are the one suggesting to watch something while we do the mindless game loop of travel?
Everyone would love to be immersed, VR or not. Yet here we are, discussing how to fill the other 75% of our time, while we are playing an entertainment product to keep us entertained.
Looking at other games, I don't see anywhere else the need to fill "void time" with watching something because the game captivates to a level where it has my undivided attention. Skyrim. Got plenty to do, no time to watch stuff. Valheim. Quiet and relaxing, smelting is boring as, but during combat or exploring, I don't have time to avert my eyes, else it's game over very quickly.
I love mining for example. As dull as it is, just shooting rocks, wait for things to be scooped up and then move to the next rock & repeat, it is relaxing - yet at the same time I'm watching stuff, because mining doesn't really require much attention.
Travelling to and from Colonia or SagA* (done both trips twice, still no idea why) was the worst Idea I've ever had. Yes, I found an undiscovered ELW on the way, put my name on it, but the radio button simulator is even worse. Some people love it, some people hate it. Out of exploration, I love the space golf bit.
ED has a big variety on things, but one thing we all can agree: Some game loops could be improved.
