ANNOUNCEMENT Two-Factor Auth enabled on Frontier Forums

Greetings everyone,

I have completed some nightly maintenance here on the forums. Tonights maintenance includes the addition of Two Factor auth via the Google Authenticator Application on your mobile devices.

Additionally, I would recommend disabling the IP-validation method if you've previously enabled it. You can turn that validator off at the bottom of this page here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/profile.php?do=editoptions (unless you want Triple Factor auth?!)


What's next? Just some CDN changes to further speed up the forums.

I also try to avoid Google as much as possible, as I don't believe they really adhere to their "Do no evil" motto (or did they finally dispense with it, I don't recall).

Google Auth App is a really nice All in one app for two-factor codes. Doesn't require each website having its own unique app to function.

Cool, didn't know this would function on Windows Auth App. Which means it may work on the Authy app too!

It's optional, opt-in. No plans to enforce it. If i were to enforce it on everyone right now, I'd end up with a lot of annoyed users to our forums.

It's a neat, simple bit of extra security you can use if you so desire. There's nothing not to like.
