U15 update notes are online!

Wonder why the official thread is hidden on page 2 or it's too early for me 🚀

I see a lot of potentially good interface improvements and I'm optimistic. Also, I hope the bug of having to enter secure storage twice to update quantities was fixed and not included. It's 10GB, it must be somewhere in there :p

Looking good. That SRV radar bug has annoyed me since the release of Odyssey, despite being of no real importance in any way. Strange how these things grab you.

No mention of the Cutter thruster problem (understandably tricky) or the Guatamaya chair controls (you'd have thought another trivial one), but I suppose we shouldn't carp about what's not in the update.

Wonder how long it will be before someone gets a good look at the inside of a Maelstrom for us?

I know I say this every time, but I wish they'd at least make the new client available for download while the game servers are down.

Looks interesting, with some nice bug fixes. Though am I missing something? I see nothing about any performance updates.

I'm disappointed they didn't fix the invisible Thargoid ships bug by making it an official feature: Thargoids using invisibility cloaks.

I understand your desire to jump in quickly but if something goes wrong with the server update, hitting the starting bell too soon will cause ALL the racehorses to break out of the starting gate and, well, you know they don't want anyone pulling them to a halt right there. :giggle:

Not quickly, just less slowly. For some reason the ED client takes up to an hour to download (why I don't know, nothing else does). It would be useful to download it during the downtime and then I might get some play time in today.

I get it, but if everyone is downloading it early, it'll be just as slow as everyone downloading it after the client is released.

It'll always be slow, no matter which way it goes, I guess. Also, remember the most important rule of all:

NEVER PLAY ON PATCH DAY

Been true since the birth of MMO's, as I hear. I'll be cutting the lawn today. :cautious:

point is, you don't roll out the client as long as you don't know if you might need to roll back the server. Imagine rolling out the client early, tripping on a problem and having to roll back the clients, so people need to effectively download twice in one day. There would be loud moaning and gnashing of teeth about "unplayable", "ded game" and "incompetent devs".

also that. But I am still doing it anyway, of course. B ut I am aware that things can be iffy on patch day.

Yes, I should know this by now.
